They better get rid of that stupid skinny Kaioken knockoff for good!

Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.
SaiyanZ wrote:Ah I see, my mistake. It and Rurouni Kenshin seem to be the only shonen from that age that are pumping out new content now (JoJo's has turned to a seinen now so I don't count it). I always felt Dragon Ball had muscular designs though, like Goku when he used the Kaioken against Vegeta, though obviously it was never as used like in FotNS.
Kinnikuman still is ongoing (went Seinen for a sequel, then went back to the original characters continuing the volume count *and possibly Shonen status* in the last few years), as is Saint Seiya (which is still counted as Shonen, but with Shonen Champion now, instead of Shonen Jump).
As for the figures, they could be real, they could be fake...I'd just wait for official confirmation before jumping the gun on this and getting too mad and/or happy about it. Lots of making assumptions with little basis/possible false information in this topic in recent weeks. Kinda ridiculous at times.

The manga ending will remain untouched. They'll learn how to control their God power-up and even then it won't really make a difference.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Waiting for spoilers has me so anxious that I feel like it's New Years Eve and I'm waiting for a New Year! I'm just that excited. As far as that blue hair for Goku I'd be a little dissapointed if it were to become real. Wonder what that transformation would be called though, I honestly believed God mode would be the highest level a Saiyan could reach

Unless Uub is actually way, way stronger than the Kid Buu we knew... maybe because his soul has been purified, so he's no longer corrupted by the evil that Buu absorbed from various species over the gazillions of years he existed before Bibidi ever managed to awaken/summon him, and can now access the true power of the original Buu that we haven't actually seen at all so far (which was apparently something along the lines of a force of nature, and became evil and more destructive through exposure to evil in other beings.)
If that ends up being what they go with, I'm hoping this "primordial Buu"/Uub's full power outclasses the newly revived and powered-up Freeza just so Buu (in some form) can return to the strongest-in-the-universe slot once again. (Or at least, strongest minus Beerus and Whis, but I'm okay with those two being above everyone and I hope they don't get "GT'ed" and left behind as Goku gets even more absurdly strong.) I liked the way things were back when Freeza's claims of superiority were more his own arrogance than anything even close to actual fact, and damn near anyone who could reach the millions in the first place could surpass him with enough training (or fusions, or transformations... or just by being a Kaioshin/android/etc.)...
Why are yall still worrying about the manga ending? I thought that Goku not using his Super Saiyan forms much explains why he didn't use any of them in his fight with Uub.

Using SSJ against an untrained kid would be such a logical thing.
I think Uub or Buu's soul/body/w.e he has will undergo some sort of change to make Uub seem competent at the end of the series. Especially since Buu could copy techniques just by looking at them, maybe AT will play on that 'genius' part on him as well.

Yeah, that's what Heroes is calling it, or something along those lines.

I know it's Toriyamas art but to an extent wouldn't that be overdoing it? Kind of like how it went from SSJ to SSj3?
