Why even bring Freeza back? He died accomplishing nothing with his revenge, this is bad for his character.

Sounds to me if not for Whis, he would have won. Maybe Goku would be able to beat him still if time weren't turned back, but if not then Whis or Beerus probably would have beat him anyways.

Whis turning back time to stop Earth's destruction was painfully predictable ever since he revealed his powers in the second chapter of Toyotaro's manga.

Apparently whether it was the explosion or lack of air wasn't completely explained since they were more focusing on the disaster of the aftermath, but Bills comments about how Freeza can survive in space so the implication is that it was probably the lack of atmosphere I guess

The blue hair thing is apparently just an effect of "going Super Saiyan" when you have absorbed Super Saiyan God powers. In other words, it's not really a new form as it is a 'new look' for Super Saiyan for Super Saiyan Gods. Or something like that. I don't know, it's weird.

Both Vegeta and Goku do it and they have to use that form to fight against Golden Freeza.

Agreed I saw that coming a mile away. Still Freeza woulda won apparently so he would have gotten his revenge. Though unfortunately he still would have Beerus and Whis to deal with anyways, so yeah he was screwed no matter what.

Goku didn't absorb the powers till the end if I'm remembering correctly.

Does that really matter? It's believable that off screen that happened so Vegeta could train with Whis and Goku. We don't really need much more info than that.

This blue hair explanation makes no sense so far... When did Vegeta have absorbed it? Why no SS2 or 3 to beat Frieza? Why is golden Frieza even stronger as a regular Saiyan God? Is he Beerus level with just 4 month?

Freeza blew up the planet due to the fact that he was losing to Vegeta and it's implied that Vegeta died because he couldn't breathe in space like Freeza.

I love it. Not what I've learned about the movie, but certain people's reactions to it.

"Battle of Gods has too little action" "THIS HAS TOO MUCH ACTION!"
"Vegeta's getting ALL the WINS" "LOLNOPE"
"Why did they bring back Freeza, it's pointless." "THEY DIDN'T DO ENOUGH WITH FREEZA."

Seeing as any hope of actually enjoying the pre-movie buildup has been destroyed by certain people of this forum, (seriously guys, well done. Gold stars all around.) I suppose I can just enjoy my moment of schadenfreude and bask in smug "I told you so's" for a while until the actual summary comes up.

If this is the case, then why not go Super Saiyan 2 or 3. Then Goku should have no problem.

Because he was having no problems until Sorbet interfered, most likely. It was also now a war of attrition, SSJ2 and SSJ3 burn through more power more quickly. If Goku's trying to exploit Freeza's energy/stamina burn, he's not going to increase his own when not needed.

As for the end of the film question, I'm going to assume it's similar to Goku first getting Super Saiyan to when he learned to control and sustain it after his time in the ROSAT. Probably a matter of learning to control and maintain.
