NO. I dont believe that. Goku trained with gohan for year in hyporbolic time chamber, and trunks powers were enough to vaporize frieza in a single blast. yet he got wiped out by android 18 along with other z fighters and vegeta being a super saiyan. It just shows the massive power difference that characters during android saga had. Frieza is a fodder at that point.Doctor. wrote:

Are people still going on about this 4 month thing after all this time. The series is littered with stuff like this (although not to this extreme).
The biggest offended that comes to mind was when Goku and Gohan (who was weaker then Piccolo pre fusion with Kami) trained in the time room for less then a year yet both of them utterly out classed Vegeta and Trunks who trained for two years straight. Also during that time nether of them mastered their Super Saiyan Form (although in Vegeta's case it was likely his pigheadedness that stopped him from doing so).

It's because I'm home now and actually have a window of time today to devote to shifting through a summary for fun things to draw. :3Lord Beerus wrote:Getting a bit anxious aren't ya, Chuquita?Chuquita wrote:*Sees it's 7:30am in Japan. That window doesn't exist tomorrow or Wednesday. If not today, I'll just have to deal with waiting until Thursday.

Thanos is a nihilist. He is literally in love with the anthropomorphic personification of death. He's also always trying to get supreme power but he subconsciously considers himself unworthy of it and so often allows himself to be defeated. And he has actually helped save the universe a few times, or even been on the good side, but for his own reasons. So even though he has killed more people than Freeza ever did, he is still probably less evil than Freeza is.ssjjanemba wrote:My understanding of Marvel isn't good, but what i mean is that Freeza can be a threat to all 12 universes just like Thanos was a threat to the entire Marvel universe.Polyphase Avatron wrote:Thanos is the guy who wants to die, though...ssjjanemba wrote:It would be awesome if Freeza survived. That wasn't base Gohan; it was Mystic/Ultimate Gohan, who in that film is pretty much stronger than every other character besides Gogeta and (maybe) Janemba.GokuRules987 wrote:You think hes not lame and overrated in this movie?Lord Beerus wrote: I'm not trying sound elitist. Also, maybe I'm wrong, but absolutely all of your posts seem to be about feats and power level. People consider Frieza a great villain based on his relevance, characterization, and relation with the characters, not his powers. Besides, in the current movie, he is stronger than every other villain in this series as of yet.

Exactly. If Freeza's first form were a Namek warrior, he'd need access to a planet with 10G and 3.6 months of training to catch up to Piccolo's strength at the start of the android saga. Instead, we have Freeza himself, who has both the planet (and likely stronger ones) and a regen tank, so catching up to Cell Games Piccolo is more believable. Now tack on four of Freeza's Namek-era transformations and he's 240x stronger than that aforementioned Piccolo. It makes sense, especially when you add this additional unknown golden form.Doctor. wrote:It just means they weren't as strong as you thought, not that Freeza was weak.GokuRules987 wrote:You think hes not lame and overrated in this movie?Lord Beerus wrote: I'm not trying sound elitist. Doesn't matter he trained. Its explained and we will get the details later.GokuRules987 wrote: NO. I dont believe that. He didn't reach God level, Goku could still beat him in the first round, if Freeza wasn't the villain that I love and "cheated" to win.
He got a new form and power boost. No fodder anymore.
People like you that would treat Freeza like shit by this point, can now chance your power level list because it isn't Freeza < Cell < Buu anymore.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Someone earlier in the thread stated it best: I think power levels take away a lot of the fun of seeing these fights happen. I really hope they don't give Freeza any kind of power level in the movie because...just no.
That being said, I've been really skeptical of this movie since they revealed Freeza as the antagonist and even more skeptical with the reveal of his Golden form. Bluku and Blugeta have really gotten me miffed but it's all in execution. Reading bullet-point summaries of this plot aren't getting me excited but I'm sure it'll be fun to watch regardless of the literal Deus-Ex Machina they seem to pull at the end.

Look the whole idea of frieza coming back and in 4 months being able to compete against God Goku was only because frieza is popular. He can resurrect anytime he wants and defeat anybody he wants, and break the manga logic anytime he wants because its all about $$$$$$.Lord Beerus wrote:You've already seen Resurrection F? And frieza is like darth vader in japan, everybody knows who he is even if they never watched or read dragon ball.
Toriyama saying that this movie is the adaptation to the manga is even more absurd because it looks like bad casted filler to me.
And i did at the beginning said that frieza was lame and overrated but what i meant is about the whole idea of this movie frieza playing the role as the main villian. It would have been much better if there was actually some kind of master mind behind frieza or a god who possibly trained him and that goku and vegeta had to fight him. It would have atleast made the movie less tedious.

Who needs the Dragon Balls anymore when you have Whis?

Seems like a really bad cop-out no matter how you slice it. Reading the manga it was really apparent Whis's brand new time travel shenanigans would play into the movie in such a way, unfortunately.SSJGFrieza wrote:Who needs the Dragon Balls anymore when you have Whis?

Well Whis said he could only go back in time a bit so if you want to bring someone back who died too long ago you would need the Dragonballs.SSJGFrieza wrote:Who needs the Dragon Balls anymore when you have Whis?

It was base Gohan, if you paid attention to his bangs, it has that single hair that signifies he's in his base. Anyway, not that big of a deal since the movie is non-canon. Although you can't blame anybody for making their own canon since Toriyama (although not the only one to do this) lets his creation get used by a company so much that he has to keep correcting things in interviews afterwards. You can see why after some point he just wouldn't care.fadeddreams5 wrote:

Anyway, back to the movie: am I the only one that wanted a Majin Buu/Frieza interaction? I'm really sad Buu doesn't show up at all. Way more sad than Goten and Trunks not showing up. Oh wait, I'm not sad about that at all.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
