1. Do Beerus and/or Whis fight?
2. Who defeats Freeza?
3. Do Buu, Goten, or Trunks appear at all?
4. Do any of Freeza's soldiers survive?

Are you joking or is this for real? If that's the truth, well... how disappointing that Freeza is back to being dead and in Hell all by the time the movie is over. I would have preferred he just escape into space or something like that or who knows what. So that he would be a threat somewhere out there or that there would be possibly more to this story.

There's also Nakao's whole "he loses the battle but wins the war"

More and more i think that was just a marketing ploy.

- Goku finally killed a main villain from the manga on his own. Chalk that one up with King Piccolo.
- No Buu, Goten, or Trunks. No major loss.
- The Z-Fighters kicking ass? Awesome. And way overdue.

Thanks for clearing that up (and for filling us in on the movie in general!). Incredibly disappointed that Freeza didn't survive at all, though I guess part of that was buying into some of the unconfirmed stuff floating around (misinterpreting the statement that he loses the battle but wins the war, Sorbet saying it was according to plan, that fake post-credits spoiler a few pages back). Honestly, I'd never in my wildest dreams expected him to be revived, so perhaps I became a bit greedy (in hoping for him to be alive for an extended period of time, get multiple fights over said period of time, have his empire reestablished, etc.), so I guess I should be more than happy. Either way though, thanks again for putting that to rest definitively.

Goku haven't had a major win since Freeza. He lost to Beerus and Cell. You can debate Boo. Goku loses too damn much in DBZ. he "lost" to fucking Ginyu. So no I'm not trolling.

I liked Dragonball before Goten debut you know. I also can pretend Goku is Goten (they look alike). I can wear my Goten shirt when I go see this in the movies. Do I miss Goten? Yes. Is it killing me that he'll be excluded without even a cameo. Fuck yea. Will my punk ass get over it? Yea. It's just an anime character (who's fucking awesome).
