Even though I kinda would have wanted Freeza to live, I'm still gonna watch the movie and enjoy Freeza and the other Z-Fighters become relevant to the plot and kicking ass after God knows how many years.

He's always been a lousy boss and views his soldiers as expendable. The Saiyans can testify to that.

Goku is DB's equivalent of John Cena getting wins he shouldn't and hogging the spotlight.

My hype for this movie is dead, what a waste bringing Freeza back.

Goku haven't had a major win since Freeza. He lost to Beerus and Cell. You can debate Boo. Goku loses too damn much in DBZ. he "lost" to fucking Ginyu. So no I'm not trolling.

I wouldn't think you'd be hyped about the movie considering Goten seemingly got excluded from the movie.

I liked Dragonball before Goten debut you know. I also can pretend Goku is Goten (they look alike). I can wear my Goten shirt when I go see this in the movies. Do I miss Goten? Yes. Is it killing me that he'll be excluded without even a cameo. Fuck yea. Will my punk ass get over it? Yea. It's just an anime character (who's fucking awesome).

I'm not a *huge* Goten fan (impartial to him, though I think he plays a very important part in the manga), but I still can't believe the potential plot point of Freeza mistaking a slightly older than we last saw them Goten and Trunks for Goku and Future Trunks. The first few pages of the first chapter of the companion manga foreshadow that like crazy.

I'm not a *huge* Goten fan (impartial to him, though I think he plays a very important part in the manga), but I still can't believe the potential plot point of Freeza mistaking a slightly older than we last saw them Goten and Trunks for Goku and Future Trunks. Trust and believe I was pissed when Goten was excluded. I believe I wrote a 3 paragraph rant. So all my anger is out. And as the biggest Goten fan in history... It's still sad but you know. It is what it is.

Don't blame the song. If Toriyama wanted to go that direction, the revival of Frieza wouldn't have impeded him; you could have both.

To be honest both Goku and Vegeta have flaws, their arrogance allowed their villians to power up and made them put earth into danger. But if i had to choose which character is better in the end, then its going to be goku because he was the first character who was good. He was the one that spared Vegeta life and allowed him to change.

Well Goku does not have a big body count compare to his Toei counter part. In the manga he has killed:

Grandpa Gohan
Everyone in the Red Ribbon Army Red Ribbon Army expect for Captain Yellow, General Blue, Colonel Violet, General White and Commander Red
Piccolo Daimao
Every demon spawn from Piccolo Daimao expect for Cymbal
Yakon
Majin Buu

Now Freeza.

If not, I still feel that him blowing up the Earth could be seen as him winning the "war" (temporarily), despite basically losing the "battle" against Vegeta.

Well, there are some major positives:

1) He was brought back to life for at least four months. Tons of possibilities for what went on during this time (I don't think it'll be explored per se, but it's fun to think about, since it's open-ended).
2) He became a legitimate threat, destroying the Earth, likely fighting Goku/Vegeta closely (who are on God tier, even if they're not at the level of Beerus/Whis), and "winning" aside from Whis giving Goku a mulligan. Sounds like an impressive showing to me.
3) I think it was stated that the theatrical run time is 93 minutes? BoG was 85 minutes in theatres, but the extended version ran at 105 minutes. If we get 20 minutes of extra content, 113 minutes is basically five 22-minute episodes long. These are legitimately long films, and each one could comprise a mini-arc (plus, it's action-packed from what we've heard).
4) The movie and Freeza in general will probably have an extended run in merchandise/video games (and who knows, there might be some spinoff manga about him, or even another movie with him or his empire as a central figure, if FnF does very well in sales).

I would've loved for Freeza to have survived for another movie, but I think the above are all terrific from the POV of a Freeza fan.

Problem is we have to wait two years for these movies to come out, and if one of them does absolutely nothing like Ressurection F seems to, 'there's really no excuse for it. Either make em all count or use OVA for these worthless fan service stories inbetween the movies.
