I think my only major complaints about what I've heard is how the movie just ends without a setup for a sequel. And also if i recall, it shows nothing of or explains any of Freeza's training? ...... are you fucking kidding me? He went from 120,000,000 to God status and we get no explanation? That is FUCKEd up.

And remember that this movie is likely just a demo for the final version, the very likely extended cut in one year that will add things all over it to pad the plot and explain everything that rubbed anyone the wrong way.

I agree, to a point. Toriyama is a great storyteller; I just don't think he's suited to writing movies, per say. Let him right the script and contribute ideas, but constructing an entire story from the base up into an hour-and-a-half-plus long movie would likely end in another train wreck.

Though, Toriyama has always been one to put heart and humor in his stories, and for some reason, it just doesn't show in this movie? I know many wanted more action, but he isn't one to try to please fans, so what was his motivation to create a story like this, exactly? I'm confused.

You are watching a new saga unfold, cut into movies because it's more handy this way for Toriyama.

"As if" doesn't mean the continuation, if he said the movie was a continuation of manga, then so be it. And it isn't even a continuation anyway, manga ended with Uub.

And no, Toriyama came up with idea for a new movie, only after visiting Maximum the Hormone concert, before that he wasn't even sure if there would be a new movie or not. Battle of Gods was fairly popular, that's why we are seeing a new movie now. Nothing was planned since the very start. They just go with sales, if sales are huge, then there will be new movies, if not - then there won't be.

This is the point, various new enemies, not the same ones.

It is spelled out for you: Toriyama keeps saying it's written as if continuing the manga meaning as a new saga he comes up with as time goes by just as usual, a bad guy in the movie gives the clear info that it's actually still the intro to something bigger coming, and you have an obvious training that is movie-long with masters watching and teaching their pupils all along.

Manga ended with Uub. Serialization of manga is finished. And Toriyama doesn't create a new manga, instead Toei is doing a new movie with Toriyama's participance. Toriyama didn't say that this movie is a continuation of manga, hence it isn't. It is a continuation of Buu arc of DBZ, not manga.

You bitching about this movie's content is like you bitching about an episode showing Gohan and Goten train, or Goku and Gohan train, or Piccolo and Gohan train: it's a tiny little part of a bigger plot, quit whining, enjoy the episode and what it will bring and wait for the next episode.

There is nothing so far that says that this movie is a part of a bigger plot. Frieza was revived, Frieza was killed, nothing about a bigger threat or Frieza being part of someone else's plan was hinted.

You can't ask for the big plot to be rushed, you can't ask when a movie ends with "there are 12 universes" to have "next movie: the 12 universes", this is - luckily - not the way a Dragon Ball saga unfolds.
Really, stop thinking this movie is the ENDGAME of the plot supposed to bring the apotheosis of what's been built up so far, it's one chapter meant to be nothing more than one chapter in the whole series of continuation chapters that will build things up as time goes by.

People have all rights to dislike a movie, if you like it - it is fine. I don't mind it much as well. But you won't be able to change people's opinions, let them enjoy what they enjoy, and let them dislike what they dislike.

After all of his hard work trying to himself become the Golden Warrior in hopes to defeat Son Goku, Freeza was unfortunately too late and didn't receive the updated fashion memo, and he was defeated by the BLUE Saiyan. So now, in the next film, "Fukkatsu no Fukkatsu no F" (Resurrection of Resurrection of F), Freeza trains for eight months and achieves a new BLUE form. However, he is late once again, as he gets defeated by Goku's newest Super Saiyan God 3 form, which is Green.

Ootsuka Takashi or Hatano Morio would be best, although just about anyone will do so long as they could recognize areas of a story that could use improving and then convince Toriyama those improvements are best.

We haven't gotten a full summary of movie for the basis of knowing whether it's a train wreck or not. And even when we get a summary, I'd still recommend watching the movie itself before making a judgement on it. If it's still a train wreck in your eyes, then so be it.

Then you're asking Toriyama not to do his thing, you're asking him not to write the continuation of the manga as he would do it.
Then what's the point of having Toriyama on board writing the supposed continuation? Have a movie scriptwriter writing something that is not what we would see in additionnal manga pages.

He already doesn't do it. The whole idea of SSJ God and Gods of Destructions wasn't even his to begin with.
