Was there any sort of cliffhanger or hinting to possible 3rd movie?

Yes I do. It's full of hardcore action sequences that will surely entertain young kids. I would've liked it very much if I were 10 or so.

I suppose that's good then as I imagine most of the audience in Japan are probably going to be kids anyway. They seem to bring in an older audience outside of Japan but I can't see why more action scenes wouldn't be a good thing for most.

Sounds like it's trying to appeal to a broader audience while Battle of Gods went more for nostalgia, which wouldn't work a second time.

I'm just hoping that the character interactions between the Z-Fighters are hilarious. I was hoping for bit of back story on Freeza and his race but, oh well, never mind.

Doing worthless stories like this just makes the movie seem like pure filler on the level of Toei's original ones. They're already playing it safe by setting this stuff during the "gap" so the least they could have done was come up with some more interesting plot points to expand the DB universe.

I'm not that disappointed I'm sure i'll like the movie just for the action alone.. but nothing that really builds on the world of Dragon ball is a bit of a letdown coming out of Battle of Gods (which I loved)

I guess it didn't have to but I just thought there would be a little more pop to the movie if not.

Yeah, Kei answered to the question about Future Trunks. Future Trunks is shown only in a flashback, and no Present Trunks in a movie at all.

I didn't mind Nakagawa's Oracle Fish either. I wouldn't have known it was a cameo or think anything was unusual if I'd seen the movie with no knowledge going in.

I think he means the disastrous guest performance for the police woman. While the Oracle Fish was performed in a good way that made it seemless compared to usual performers (honestly, I wouldn't have guessed it was a guest star by myself), the police woman was performed in a horrible way that I've never heard in Japanese voice acting before. She was just reading her text not believing it and not being in-character for a sec, like when you ask most pupils to read a text in class: the "I read because I have to" bored tone.
This is something that foreign dubs have caught up for, as the line is likely much better performed by professionnals around the world.

Well, Nakagawa Shoko has already twice done a decent job voicing main characters in anime. She was a seiyu for Suzuna Taki in Eyshield 21 (who was a girlfriend of the main character) and Saori Kido (who was a girlfriend of the main character reincarnation of Goddess Athena) in Saint Seiya Omega. So she may as well count as a skillful voice actor by today.

But it is in this trailer! Though I believe the author of fanart just based it on official art of Tagoma at the time, and it was just a coincidence that there was a very similar scene in a trailer.
