Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
ok i read the summary.
this movie is cleary just a movie made by akira toriyamas nostalgia.
he just wanted freezer again.
not even thought out at all.
alone how randomly freezer mentions that a few month worth of training can beat the saiyans.
and he actualy gets so strong without explaination makes it clear this movie will have no effect on the next movies(if he continues)
so if he continues with the 12 universe thing i think you shouldnt be worried that it will be like RoF.
imo its just akira toriyama wanting freezer shine a bit.(no pun intended)

So Toyotaro's manga isn't actually 100% accurate. Some things are slightly different in the synopsis.
Anyway the movie sounds okay, but I'll wait for the more detailed synopsis. I'm quite surprised by all the Vegeta hate in this thread. Guess it's similar to how people hate certain celebrities or sports teams because of their fan base.

It's nothing new and it'll get worse when the news of Vegeta kicking Freeza's sorry behind starts to spread.Sora Saiyan wrote:I'm quite surprised by all the Vegeta hate in this thread.

Basically fans expected some sort of huge intense plot with twists and turns at every corner, when that has and never will be Dragon Ball.batistabus wrote:I'm really not getting why so many of you seem so angry at this movie. It seems that you expected a lot of things to happen when you had no real reason to. I have a feeling that many of you would not have been happy with most of Dragon Ball if you had been reading it/watching it as it came out.
It's almost like people have forgotten what the formula of DB is. From what I've read, it sounds exactly like what I expected from the film and I'm still so excited to see it.

The hate isn't to Vegeta, it's to the extremely annoying fan "opinion" that plagued the thread for the past few month's. I'll let Kamiccolo explain.Sora Saiyan wrote:I'm quite surprised by all the Vegeta hate in this thread.
That's why the mocking of Vegeta started. Not cause of hatred of the character, but the obnoxious hype, and how hilarious the result actually is.Kamiccolo9 wrote:It's due to a certain few frequent followers of this thread who have been shouting at the top of their lungs FOR MONTHS that Vegeta would be the one to save the day, that this was Vegeta's movie, that everyone who said otherwise was wrong and obviously too dense not to comprehend that it was Vegeta's time to shine, that Vegeta would put Freeza in his place and avenge his fallen homeworld that he never cared about, that Vegeta would win after Goku got nearly killed by Freeza, because Vegeta's head was the same size as Goku's on the first poster.
It got really old, really fast, and it never, ever stopped. So yes. Some of us take a great deal of pleasure in these people being proved wrong.

You mean this result :dbzfan7 wrote:That's why the mocking of Vegeta started. Not cause of hatred of the character, but the obnoxious hype, and how hilarious the result actually is.
What follows is a one-sided beating from Vegeta in which Freeza is humiliated even further, to the point that he even loses his much-vaunted “Golden” form. Back in his fourth form, he pounds against the ground in despair.
What we've been hyping up has happened,Freeza on his knees defeated with Vegeta standing over him like a king.

I don't know if this has been said yet, but what were Julians thoughts on the movie itself? Did he enjoy it more than Battle of Gods?
I thought BoG was fantastic, and I remember that receiving a lot of hate from fans online. If Resurrection F is even equally as good, I'll be delighted.

Skipped him pussing out to fight full power Freeza.sintzu wrote:You mean this result :dbzfan7 wrote:That's why the mocking of Vegeta started. Not cause of hatred of the character, but the obnoxious hype, and how hilarious the result actually is.

And by the time Vegeta fought, Freeza couldn't even harm Goku anymore.Goku offers to let Vegeta fight now, but he nervously declines, saying that Freeza’s opponent is Kakarrot.
Even with a massive advantage he still fucks up.Finally, Freeza manages to land a solid punch directly to Goku’s face… but Goku is completely unfazed.
Goku launches a massive Kamehameha at Freeza, which he attempts to repel with a blast of his own. It is no use, however; the tyrant is utterly defeated.
Standing before Freeza, Vegeta prepares to deliver the final blow…
Freeza sends a ball of energy straight into the ground below him. The Earth’s crust cracks and distorts, revealing magma underneath that rushes to the surface. Earth is engulfed in fire, and explodes in a giant shockwave.

Weather you agree on how it was done is up to you but the fact is : Vegeta defeated Freeza and made him kneel before his greatness.

Greatness of pussing out once Freeza proved to be strong, and like a coward said Goku can fight instead. Greatness of only fighting once Goku did all the work of weakening Freeza to the point he can't even defend himself. Greatness that still fucks up with such a huge advantage over Freeza. That kind of greatness is the equivalent of someone kicking the shit out of a UFC star after he was mugged, shot, and stabbed repeatedly. In the end that person looks like a fool if they think their hot shit by beating up a wounded foe.sintzu wrote:Weather you agree on how it was done is up to you but the fact is : Vegeta defeated Freeza and made him kneel before his greatness.
If any other character did this, I doubt you'd call it greatness. It's pathetic. Where the hell was saiyan pride on this one? I didn't know saiyan pride was "Cower to stronger foes" "Fight only when stronger foe is greatly softened up for you" If Vegeta was such a badass he would have taken up Goku's offer and fought Golden Freeza at full power. But no he cowered and let Goku do it. If he was such a badass, he wouldn't feel so good kicking the crap out of a wounded foe. What's saiyan pride if you beat your enemy when they're not at their best?

Yep. A weakened Freeza cause he was too chicken shit to fight like a true Saiyan. Pretty sad when the low class shows more saiyan pride than the Prince.sintzu wrote:No matter how you look at it the end result is the same,Vegeta defeated Freeza and made him kneel before him.dbzfan7 wrote:

Reading the synopsis, I'm somewhat pleased that "logic" prevailed and Freeza still gets his ass kicked mightily in a one-on-one fight in spite of his deciding to do a bit of training. Good for him that he doesn't get completely steamrolled, I guess, but Freeza never had any business posing any legitimate threat to post-Buu Goku or Vegeta outside of blowing up the planet and suffocating them.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
I gotta say, I'm really looking forward to seeing how casual fans react to this movie. That's not to say that hard-core fans won't enjoy it too, but it's really cool to almost view the series through the eyes of people who are just there to watch awesome fights...and considering this movie seems to be 80% action, I can't wait to see this in theatres.
On the summary, I won't say too much until I've seen the movie, but this seems to be more about the progression of Goku and Vegeta's characters rather than diving into Freeza's. While I would've liked that, I guess there's not much point in exploring someone that's gonna be dead in just under two hours. I guess Toriyama's kind of using Freeza as a gauge to display how the characters of Goku and Vegeta have developed over the course of the series, and in some cases, not developed. I have more to say on that matter, but again, I'll save that for when I finally get to see the film.
EDIT: Oh, and thanks, Julian! "This is why we have Julian around, guys. He's such a team player."

Well, I've read the summary, and while I am not as hyped to see the movie as before, I am still looking forward to it. Things like Jaco, Bulma and their antics sound like fun, and I can't wait to see the scene between Freeza and Bulma, I honestly didn't expect them to interact in this movie! Besides that, the scenes with Goku/Vegeta sound hilarious.
I do however have a major gripe with the way Vegeta is portrayed.
There is nothing honorable about Vegeta fighting Goku mid-fight because he wants to have his turn (What the heck??), and then when Goku offers to step aside so he can fight, Vegeta declines because he's scared/nervous? Way to go admitting that you only wanted to fight Freeza when he wasn't at full power, basically admitting you're too weak/scared to handle him as is. And then he steps up only when Freeza was tired out from his fight with Goku? Yeah....no. To make matters worse, he couldn't even stop weakened Freeza's attack when he was at his feet. He did a better job protecting the Earth in BoG with his silly dance moves.
Vegeta is not a winner here, no matter how you twist it. He gets his moment to shine, which is great! But it's the way in which he does it that makes me question what the creators were thinking (did they honestly throw Vegeta a bone here?) and in my opinion, it actually undermines his 'shine'.
Also, while people keep saying that this movie was one big training session for Goku and Vegeta, what exactly did Vegeta learn from all this? The summary does not include anything about him 'learning', he's only pissed off at Goku's win (way to start off relaxing a bit more, like Whis told you to do, Vegeta!)
I realize I sound a bit harsh, and I fully acknowledge that I have yet to see the movie in order to form a proper opinion, but I can't help but feel slightly disappointed with Vegeta's portrayal in this movie from what we've heard. [/end rant]
I don't hate the movie, though!

Now that I think about it... does this mean Vegeta can tank planet destroying attacks, but not the explosion of a planet? :O
There's room for only one snake, and one big boss.

I appreciate the summary Julian.
One question though: is it really North City and not East City that Freeza permanently destroys?
There seems to have been a bit of confusion on the subject, when the 2nd chapter came out and it was initially said to be North City, but then Herms corrected it to East City, but now it really is North City as stated in your summary?
Re Vegeta vs Freeza.
I guess Vegeta's shocked face is a reaction to Golden Freeza? That way making it clear to the viewer he is nervous?
