Just a reminder that Goku is not from a video game. So they probably won't put him in. Why not vote for a better character? Like, Solid Snake, Bayonetta, or Wonder Red.

The closest you could get to Goku is having a Dragon Quest character or Chrono.

Since Square and Nintendo have been doing a lot of cross overs recently (Boom Street, Mario Sports Mix) and the amount of SE exclusives which have been on Nintendo consoles recently (Kingdom Hearts 3D, Dragon Quest IX/X) them having Square Enix 3rd party in Smash isn't too far fetched.

Whether you think this could or could not happen doesn't matter. When people wanted Sonic and Megaman everyone said it would never happen now we have 3 games with sonic and 2 with with megaman in it. Just because you think it can't happen doesn't mean I am going to let you persuade me from voting for Goku because if he gets enough votes it could happen. Especially with Namco Bandai as one of the developers on Smash Bros Wii U/3DS!!!

Sakurai is the one who gets to pick and approve of the roster choices. He already said that he and other staff members laugh when they get fan request for non video game characters like Goku, Spongebob and several others. I guess we should have Godzilla be a assist trophy too because Namco Bandai has the video game rights to Godzilla as well .

Since you can vote multiple times, I picked Goku once and for a more serious one picked Sceptile to finish out the Pokémon type trio and would make sense in my opinion with all the ORAS hype (though it's calmed a bit by now).

Yes! Thank you! I voted for it, too. We already have a Kanto and Kalos starter. Meganium is unremarkable. I don't see much potential in Serperior. That leaves Sceptile and Torterra. The latter could be designed as a Bowser / Ivysaur hybrid, which would be cool, but Sceptile is faster, was prominently featured in a much more recent title, and has a Mega.

Back to Dragon Ball, yeah, I think Nintendo would put Goku lower on the pile simply for being a manga and anime character more than a game one. That says nothing of Shueisha / Toei's alleged licensing stinginess. Furthermore, Super Smash Bros. is intended as a Nintendo stars brawler. Sonic and Solid Snake have both been featured in company-partnered games. Pac-Man is property of the main developer for Smash 4. Goku has neither of those claims. Him being in a Smash clone would make a nice alternative, though.

There are far better characters and that are fighter than stealth/shooters, plus so what he was in Brawl that was a piece of shit when compared to Melee and 3DS/Wii U.

Obviously. Besides, Smash has never been designed with the competitive player in mind, so the quality of the game on a professional level isn't really relevant.
