I don't get why they only did the god ritual to Vegeta. They should've made it to Gohan, Goten and Trunks too. And Pan. At least they would be useful.

I think Super Saiyan God only works for pure Saiyans.

I wouldn't get any ideas if I were you. Whis is probably talking about Beerus.

It's what I thought originally, too, but I just don't see the connection between the Saiyans and Beerus at this point.

I don't there could be anybody higher in terms of power than Whis. And I also don't believe he'd suddenly become a villain just for the hell of it. He works better as an antagonist.

Your example doesn't make much sense. If your wife was a Navy Seal, master in all kinds of hand to hand combat and you were just a skinny office clerk, you would just be a fool by saying to her to stay safe while you are off facing the burglar, not to mention inherently sexist since apparently, even though its obvious that she is far more qualified to take him down and that taking care of guys is part of her professional training and duties, you assume that that can't be her role, her role is to stay there while her man takes care of business. That's not logic, that's preconceptions.

Big Momma already covered this, but the key point in my example (and the key point in the movie) is that they didn't think there was a real emergency. I was absolutely not implying that "the man should take care of business." I was saying that if I think it's something I can handle, I'm not going to send my wife in to do it for me even if she happens to be stronger.

If the characters knew that there was a serious threat, and they truly wanted to send their best soldiers into the fray, then yes, No. 18 would have made more sense than Kuririn. But that's not what happened. No. 18 and Kuririn outright acknowledge that she's the stronger of the two. But they didn't think there was a real emergency, so Kuririn said "Nah, don't worry about it. I can handle this one. You relax." To the two of them, it wasn't about "keeping her in the kitchen," as so many people have said. It was simply Kuririn offering to do something so that his wife didn't have to. They didn't think anything of it.

Which does raise the question of why Tenshinhan told Yamcha to stay behind if nobody thought there was an emergency...

Instead Gohan comes in and owns that guy... But the same SS Gohan got OHKOed by first form Freeza...

Kei already said the Zarbon comparison wasn't in terms of strength, but in terms of rank or competence.

IIRC, his line was "Shisami and Tagoma are competent soldiers who can rank with Zarbon and Dodoria." So, "competent" can refer to their abilities other than strength, such as loyalties and leadership.

Instead Gohan comes in and owns that guy... But the same SS Gohan got OHKOed by first form Freeza...

Well this is after Freeza trained. And Gohan hasn't been training seriously since the Cell Saga.

yeah, it was weird for me too when I read it. and like you I can't see how Beerus is as proud as the Saiyans either since he's saying how proud and full of themselves they are since BoG, so that doesn't sounds good for Whis to say he's like that aswell. (or maybe he is... )

Well, Tenshinhan may have found it to be an emergency for Yamcha and Chaozu.

And there is of course the fact that Tenshinhan, Krillin, 18, Gohan, Bulma, and Roshi weren't collaborating and deliberating on who should and should not come along together. They made isolated decisions, with potentially different rationale at work.

Freeza had been dead for so long that his solders probably assumed he was far stronger than he actually was. Reputation is a powerful thing.

I have no problems with Shisami being... around Cell's level, I guess? I dunno, I really don't care. And it's not like Freeza doesn't surpass him once he trains, so everything works out.

Before i read the summary I thought I might start raging, after I'm cool with it.

Yes Frieza isent used like other villains in the movies but in a way that makes him more unique. In just four months of training he surpassed all the villains in the series who came after him (I dont count Beerus as a villain) and had power on par with Super Saiyan (God Ki) Goku. Its very in character for him to come running to earth after getting his new form and not bothering to master it (plus he had no idea Goku had met Beerus and Whis). Its intresting to see Frieza find himself in the same situation that Goku found himself in on namek when he fought Frieza. While it is a shame that Golden Frieza dosent get a good showing at least we have an explantion why and us Frieza fans can have fan ideas or fan fiction of what could have happened if Frieza had trained more. What I do find interesting is that in the end Frieza did beat both Goku and Vegeta. Yes he had to use underhanded stuff to get those wins but this is war, anything goes and in the end both Vegeta and Goku came up short. So in the end Frieza beat two guys stronger then him in a row and almost won not with his power but with tactics, quick thinking and tenacity which actually makes me respect him more.

Goku and Trunks made Freeza their bitch long before Vegeta did. It's 2015 and Vegeta STILL scared of Freeza . Once an emperor's bitch is always an emperor's bitch. Seriously this movie didnt really do Vegeta justice with all the hype it gave them.

When Trunks turnt SSJ. Freeza was scared shirtless. Even worse in the anime. Goku was the first person to bring fear in the heart of Freeza. Someone that he begged to spare him. What's worse is that even after all of this. Freeza could not beat Goku. But Vegeta even after 14(?) Years after Namek. Is nothing but Freeza's bitch.


You can't ignore Vegeta being scared of Freeza. You just can't. Goku made Freeza into a Mecha. Vegeta just reverted him.

Plus Freeza's empire seemed aware of the details about Goku and such. They probably learned that training to increase your ki was possible.
