The story for Revival of “F”,is being crafted by original manga author Akira Toriyama, who stated he is writing it, “…as though it were a continuation of the manga when it was in serialization,”
That quote is for marketing purposes and is inconsistent on itself. He is not really continuing the manga like it was in serialization because the plot doesn't even happen after the end of the manga and its not only based on the manga but also based on the previous movies (2008 special, BOG) and includes stuff that wasn't in the manga, like Jaco.

If Toriyama says "it is a continuation...", is her world, her rules
in the same way he says "it is a parallel story" is her world, her rules
Dragon Ball is the world of Toriyama, and he can continue it as he wants....
toriyama says "it is a continuation" so ... is a continuation

RandomGuy96 wrote:That doesn't make any sense. He wants to use 100% stamina (stamina is used as a synonym for power several times btw), yet he decides to use 1% of his power? You're also ignoring his agreement with Cell's statement about fights not being enjoyable unless both fighters' true powers are close. Also, him stating that Uub could win the tournament, that the supposed Godgeta and Godku were entering.
I'm not ignoring Goku's statement to Cell, I'm just saying that Oob was obviously a special case. Goku said stamina, not power, meaning that he wanted to be at 100% as a Super Saiyan 3 against Oob, just like he was against Boo. He didn't want to just have an enjoyable fight, it was a special fight for him, because he wanted to see if he had surpassed Boo through his training. If he was counting his new forms (SSGod, base God, blue SS), the fight itself would have been pointless. The fact that he is considering losing against Oob means that even if he is cornered, he won't use his God powers no matter what.
Either FNF just didn't happen in the manga's continuity (which the plethora of continuity errors would indicate), or he somehow lost the god power-up, like Gohan somehow lost his Ultimate power-up (even though he has it at the EOZ).
BoG & FnF don't have that important errors like other movies.

As for Gohan's Ultimate state, the way his fights sound from the synopsis, it sounds like he just didn't get the chance to use the form, not that he had lost it (same for SS2). As for his eyes not being fully outlined, it's most likely a design error from Toriyama, since he did the same mistake in his BoG drawings of Gohan. But even if he really had lost it, nothing stops him from getting the power-up again during the 5 years between FnF & 28th TB arc.

You are taking the line way too literally. Toriyama obviously doesn't mean that he is writting BoG & FnF as if they are chapters 520+.

I might be able to accept this explanation if it hadn't been explained in the manga adaptation that he had lost his mystic form. Perhaps this scene will be included in the extended cut, if there is one; but there's also a chance we cannot accept the manga as it may not portray events in the movie particularly accurate.

He didn't say its a continuation, he said its like a continuation, and even that is inconsistent as I pointed out, not to mention that the whole point of the statement is just marketing.

I'm taking it literally because there are fans taking it literally and saying that Toriyama is stating that the movie is indeed a continuation/canon. I'm pointing out the problems in that.

When did the manga adaptation say that he lost his Ultimate state?

As he begins to lose the battle, Goku compliments how amazing Freeza is, to have come so far when it took him so long to get this strong. Freeza is apparently tickled by this, but says it won’t do him any good. It is then, however, that Freeza notices the presence of Beerus, who complains that Freeza is going to get dust all over the food if he doesn’t fight somewhere else.
Wait, doesn't this mean that Golden Freeza is actually stronger than Goku before he starts losing power? Or is Freeza that begins to lose the battle?

Golden Frieza has the upper hand at first, but begins to lose due to a loss of stamina - once Goku goes SSJB (Blue SSJ) he gains the upper hand and as does Vegeta.

But doesn't Goku turn SSJB before Freeza transforms?

Toei Animation's press release for Battle of Gods
July 17, 2012
How convenient for you to post only the second part of the press release. And here is the first one:
The global phenomenon Dragon Ball is being made into a movie using Toei Animation’s latest technology, consistently realized as a Toriyama work, with the original author Akira Toriyama himself deeply involve from the script stage for the first time. An episode from between the animation series “Z” and “GT”, or in other words from the blank decade between the end of the battle with Majin Buu in chapter 517 of the manga and chapter 518, will be depicted for the first time.

Goku absorbed SSJG, he made it his own, it is his power in base now. In base he is now on a whole different level from what he was earlier in SSJ3.

Sure they do. Beerus being able to achieve his power level with training while Goku not being to able to do is one. Planet Vegeta being destroyed before Beerus going into the slumber, while Beerus not knowing it, no one recognising Majin Buu, and even bringing him up, including Whis, Vegeta knowing Beerus, but never mentioning him in the whole series and never being afraid of possibility of him appearing and destroying the Earth, Vegeta getting a rage boost while never getting one before, because it was exclusive to Gohan (and Pan in GT), Beerus saying that Ki which Goku and Vegeta use doesn't work on deities, and being wounded, and bleeding by Vegeta punch a half an hour later, Shenron knowing about Beerus, while no one else does, including Kami, and later telling what SSJ God is, while even Whis doesn't know it, Beerus being able to deduce how strong Goku was and comparing him to Frieza, while never meeting Frieza in his final form, meaning not being able to deduce his real power, Goku not wanting to use something that he doesn't earn in BoG, yet using Whis' time rewind ability in FnF, if you wish.

What about FnF - totally different hell from anime version, Frieza not being reincarnated, and instead staying in hell, while being stated to be very evil by pretty much everyone, including Toriyma himself:
Toriyama wrote:I’m not good with drawing truly bad guys. …I guess it’s probably just Freeza. Like, “He was truly a bad guy~”. The others all have an aspect that you can’t hate remaining somewhere in there.
http://www.kanzenshuu.com/translations/ ... cial-talk/

Frieza having in his army a guy of Zarbon's rank to be stronger than himself and even Piccolo, Gohan not being able to use Mystic, and instead turning into SSJ, while it wasn't supposed to be a transformation, rather than potential unlock, Vegeta not being able to survive a planet destruction (it can be argued though, that he died from a suffocation, not from the actual explosion).

Take it as you want, I can't discuss with stubborn people.Looks like you registered just to complain. If you don't like it, draw something yourself. But no, you can't because you don't have the talent to do so at all, You only have talent to complain.

This could very well be the case.
I'd like to have had a cliffhanger ending, but if this is leading up to something genuinely more complex in a 3rd movie, the perspective on it looks better.
At the same time, even if there's a big pay-off in 3rd movie, it's not like ROF will suddenly become 100% amazing. It's not gonna be Empire Strikes Back which is a stunning movie as standalone.

It seems that the 2nd one is from an SD Version of Fukkatsu no F in which Trunks thinks that Gohan is Yamcha.
