I remember Chuquita asking about this when the vegeta portion popped up on Bluma's blog, but I don't remember having seen the full image posted here. Sooo:

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

I like it! Wasn't expecting semi-chibi artwork. Shame Gokû doesn't have a mic too. X3
Guess he doesn't have that smooth singing voice Vegeta has. XD

It's Vegeta's head. It's a tad too big. Actually, they all something in common. They are gag characters, none of them are ever serious, and I guess Toriyama wanted Freeza 's return to be taken seriously and maybe even capture the tone of the Season 3.Dyno wrote:Don't get me wrong, that "dumb" aspect is indeed part of its charm and it is a positive thing/point, I agree.Lord Beerus wrote:I don't really see anything dumb about Resurrection F that hasn't been done before and done even dumber. I mean Dragon Ball as a whole relies on somewhat dumb logic, but that is part of its charm.
But there is the negative point of the same word and they are:

Gotenks was pretty serious as a SSJ3.
Goten was serious when Chi Chi died and when he's training for Boo
Trunks was serious about Vegeta.
Never serious you say? How about the beginning of the movie with Piccolo and Pan. Goten can't see his niece? How about Goten and Trunks being curious on the amount of ki they're sensing. They blow up because of Freeza and they don't even know who killed them. It's total 100% horse shit why they're not in movie. Same for Boo and Yamcha.

Gokû's in proportion, but those proportions are shorter than the height they usually draw him at. He's normally a head taller than Vegeta.

I don't really care, but both of them have arms that are too long as well. Even as a fist, with their arms fully extended, they'd be at like knee level instead of mid thigh. It's mostly mine though since they're curled.

Vegeta's manga height and proportions. In the very low 5 feet range. Actually, in this arc he's depicted as near the same height as a 4'11 Freeza, so Vegeta's like 5'3
and then here's this just for shits and giggles to see how puny Vegeta really is

You can see a whole discussion on it here, and most of the image links still exist. So have a fun browse through the reality of how tall or short these characters are supposed to be. Tenshinhan is a huge guy, near Piccolo's size initially.

I'm saying that the reason we won't see Godly ki-infused Super Saiyan 2/3 has been explained and justified with an in-universe explanation, and isn't just a matter of "Toriyama's an idiot as usual".Dyno wrote:And? What are you trying to say here?

I appreciate Vegeta's 5'3/5'4 height. I'm around there (it's the average height for women in the U.S) and it makes it easier to judge heights of places and characters by comparison when I'm drawing.
Vegeta'd be short for a guy even in Japan. The average for men there is 5'7, right?

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
I know all that. My question is if base God (the state he uses against Beerus & Freeza) works like a transformation in the new movie, like it does in Dragon Ball Heroes.Mystic Tien wrote:But in a movie itself Goku fought Beerus in base, and he was fine. He didn't even become much weaker than when he was in SSJG.
All he is saying is that he can't find a way to beat Beerus now. He is talking about present time, where Beerus is threatening them to destroy Earth. The problem is not really with Goku not being able to do it in that specific time-frame, rather than him saying:
Anime-only. In Jaco The Galactic Patrpolman by Toriyama, Planet Vegeta is destroyed in age 739, just as it was said in Toriyama's BoG.According to DBZ timeline, he wasn't. Beerus stated that he went into slumber 39 years prior to the events of BoG, BoG happens in age 778.
viewtopic.php?p=673113#p673113
Planet Vegeta was destroyed in Age 737, 41 years ago from this age.
viewtopic.php?p=786547#p786547
We don't know what Whis knows about Boo. We don't even know if Whis even knows that Boo was revived.Even if they didn't know how he looked like, it makes sense for Whis to bring up Buu as the strongest being, while Beerus himself was interested in Freeza who was much weaker than him. Not only part of him did survive (Mr. Buu), but he even was reincarnated by that point. Hell... Freeza out of all people mentioned Buu, yet Whis didn't.
You are making way too many assumptions, Freeza didn't live in Planet Vegeta for Vegeta to see that Beerus was superior to Freeza. He only knew that Beerus was stronger than King Vegeta, and Freeza has a dozen of men stronger than him in his ranks, and he had even surpassed him while he was still a kid.Seeing as Beerus was treating his father as garbage, he should have guessed that he was much stronger than King Vegeta, and Freeza seemingly not interrupting it at all should have given him a quite good idea about Beerus' strength at all.
Gohan was the only one shown to get rage boosts, but it wasn't stated that only him can do it.This doesn't work like that though. In the manga it was established that only Gohan receives major rage boosts (and Pan, being Gohan's daughter does it in GT as well).
And again, it sounds a lot to me that this is just a gag saying "Vegeta will even surpass Goku if you touch his wife!", since Watanabe calls it a silly scene.
When was that said?In the original japanese version he said. Here is a quote from the official FUNimation subs:
He is the freaking dragon that can revive people back to life through his powers, I don't see why his powers wouldn't be great enough to say a tale. How he could have possibly knew about him, while no one else did?
He was never supposed to know a lot about different races, he was just aware of things that the entire galaxy was aware (Planet Vegeta's destruction, Freeza's defeat by a Super Saiyan), and could know the details because of his powers (he can look back into the past).Because Whis is the one who trains two SSJ Gods in FnF, he has a scepter with which he can see anything he wishes, and he is supposed to know a lot about different races, especially saiyans, as it was him who brought up Freeza's defeat by Goku's hands to begin with.
Freeza also stated that his Final Form is actually his true form, the form he was born in, and that he created the other transformations to suppress his power. FnF also shows that Freeza can skip transformations. But we know. Freeza stated in the manga that it was the first time he has ever shown his 3rd form to anyone.
And you think that Goku was happy that Whis helped him?Goku felt that it wasn't right to use power, which he didn't earn by hard training. Yet he did exactly this in FnF by letting Whis rewind time, for him to be able to save the Earth.
I'm just not interested to this discussion. I don't care about how FnF contradicts the anime. The contradictions with the manga can all be explained easily. And what? We are speaking about anime movie here, so it is just proper to compare it with anime. It is advertised as a "Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F", not "Dragon Ball". And contradictions, being it with anime, or manga, they exist. We can't just pretend that they don't exist for some reasons. There are contradictions in manga as well.
Toriyama is obviously ignoring Boo then, because Boo is evil in a different sense. Toriyama's statement here also has nothing to do with reincarnartion.By the quote I listed upper in my previous post, Toriyama literally said that only Freeza of all DB villains he created was truly bad, and only he didn't have any good or redeemable qualities, Toriyama directly contradicts himself with this movie.
Of course it matters how much suppressed they are. If Piccolo had suppressed his power at 5, Kame-sennin could kill him.It doesn't matter how much suppressed they are. At that point of time, they should be able to defeat the likes of Zarbon with their hands tied, and their eyes closed.
Maybe he thought that Piccolo wasn't suppressed and actually had trouble. Or maybe he wanted to act cool. Then why did he turn SSJ if he was holding back? It literally makes no sense.
It was said from th 2chan comments that Beerus said that Freeza survived because he can survive in the vacuum of space, implying that Vegeta didn't die from the explosion.Yet, nothing in the movie actually implied this, at least from the words of Kei and the summary. It is just a wild guess, no more than this, it wasn't shown or confirmed by anyone.
You really should accept the fact that not everyone agrees with you in this world.RandomGuy96 wrote:I don't think you even believe half of what you're typing.
Prove that he is talking about power in this case.Yes, he wants to be at 100% stamina (synonym for power in several other cases)
Yes, it does. Goku wanted to test himself and see if he can beat Oob in the form he used against Boo after 10 years of training, he didn't want to beat Oob with a form/state he gained by holding hands with his friends & family.but he's only going to use a fraction of his power on Uub. Because... that makes sense.
Just because he usually prefers fights when both do their best doesn't mean that this is the only kind of fights he likes all the time. This is obviously a special case.Oh, and he's also acting like the fight is going to be fun, even though he has indirectly stated that it's not.
These sound more like things you don't like rather than contradictions.Freeza's absurd training gains, Freeza's knowledge of Buu and Beerus, Pilaf and co being young (a carry-over from BOG, where that shouldn't have happened)
Piccolo was holding back, and he wasn't actually in real danger.Piccolo having trouble with a Zarbon-tier Giant Red Bull Man
Only one of them was serious.numerous alien invasions happening in what was supposed to be a peaceful period
Have you even read the summary & comments from those who've seen the movie? Gohan fought all of Freeza's men in base, and like everyone else, he was holding back in order to not kill anyone. He only used Super Saiyan to "save" Piccolo from Shisami, and then he was one-shoted by Freeza in the middle of a talk. He didn't get the chance to use anything above Super Saiyan. Yes, he wasn't sure he could turn Super Saiyan, but it was proven that he still could. It doesn't prove in any way that Gohan lost SS2 or Ultimate.Okay, now I KNOW you don't believe what you say. He didn't get a chance? What the hell? He's not even sure he can turn SS anymore! He has absolutely zero reason to use SS over Ultimate if he has it. Which he doesn't.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
It doesn't really make sense he could swap in-and-out between yellow and blue hair if he fully absorbed the godly powers whatever. And visually it would just be a mess. They already need to come up with a good excuse why the hair wasn't blue at the end of BOG. As much as I don't like blue, I hope they stick with it for SSJ transformations for Goku/Vegeta from now on. Having blonde pop up randomly again would just be confusing.Noah wrote:It would be cool then we would have two sets of transformations:Dyno wrote:I don't think there is something blocking Kakarot from using Super Saiyan 2 or Super Saiyan 3 with Super Saiyan God powers, if Super Saiyan is possible, why those forms wouldn't be? God Ki:

If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

No? It's newer and more interesting than just going "Oh no, bad shit happened! Don't worry, we [Namekians] already have the Dragon Balls to reverse it!" the way things are by the end of the series. The Dragon Balls are getting REALLY over used, and I don't mean in-universe negative energy build up type stuff.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:Isnt him just snapping his fingers for a time travel "redo" worse?
Do I want this ability used a ton in the future? No. but a new reset button is very welcome to help break up that monotony.
