There is no OVA!

Post by Li'l Lemmy » Sun Nov 19, 2006 2:22 am

This'll probably be a short thread:

Well, I just read through the excellent There is no OVA! - History page. I've actually read through it before, as well as the included synopsis-- but as I've been thinking about the footage lately and went back to Daizenshuu EX with a particular query in mind, it turns out that neither page (nor the suggested links) was able to give me the answer:

So here it is. How much actual "movie time" was animated? I understand that the footage was actually released in VHS format, but were the two tapes enough to make an actual movie? Or was it more along the length of a "promotional" trailer-type item, like the ones companies sometimes send in the mail to advertise a product?

If this actually has been answered somewhere before, then forgive my ignorance and feel free to point out where. It's just been bugging me lately, so . . . meh? (*shrugs*)

(The Piccolo image on that particular menu of the main page . . . he looks desperate. Like he's trying to almost literally reach out to people while shouting to the world that "There is no OVA!")

They're both (Meaning the 2 parts) around 30 minutes long, give or take a few due to random parts when it shows a little Goku sprite on a map going from one place to another, and the credits seem to be sprite based, also.

Of course, I may be wrong, thats just what I remember from watching it on Youtube a while back... hehe... hehe... heh, illegal.

Really? Hmm. That's longer than some of the "real" movies.

Well, gee . . . I guess that's it for this thread, then. Unless someone wants to prove him wrong, my thanks to Hao Kaiser. And may the legend of The Plan To Eradicate the Saiya-jin continue to live on.
