Nice your comparing kid Goku before Toriyama even though that he was going to be an alien. At the very least kid Goku is weird he's often very bipolar and i would honestly be afraid to be around him as he's just too wild. Plus hes basically a gag version of bugs bunny, kicking nukes like soccer balls, breaking the fourth wall out of his authors manuscript and many times being inconsistent.

If this discussion is about kid Goku then this thread might aswell be locked cause you already provided your point, but if its about DBZ Goku then it holds a solid fact that Goku most likely wouldn't cry as he naturally never had an urge to no matter how bad things got during his battles.

At the very least kid Goku is weird he's often very bipolar and i would honestly be afraid to be around him as he's just too wild. If this discussion is about kid Goku then this thread might aswell be locked cause you already provided your point, but if its about DBZ Goku then it holds a solid fact that Goku most likely wouldn't cry as he naturally never had an urge to no matter how bad things got during his battles.

Goku never had a reason to cry in the Z era. He was off screen training, dead, or dying most of time and he's a very positive person. And Goku has anger.

I am so torn on the idea of "Villain breaks Gokû emotionally". It'd be so interesting/difficult to watch/difficult to look away/absolutely heartbreaking. It'd be those big wide "10th anniversary movie" tears too, wouldn't it? God....

I don't know if there were gonna be tears, but wasn't the pre-Toriyama draft of BOG gonna have scenes where the possessed main cast emotionally break Gokû down by calling him out on all kinds of things he's gotten passes on?

Getting hit really hard. A simple rifle bullet was enough to do it for kid Goku:

Also, yes, getting paralyzed with no hope of being healed would probably do it. That'd require getting rid of a LOT of plot devices, though. I mean, even if you destroy the Namek dragon balls, and the Earth dragon balls, and the senzu beans, and the healing tanks... there's still Buu. His magic can cure blindness and heal people from decapitation. I'm pretty sure he could heal Goku.
