Seems like instead of calling it "Super Saiyan God" they should have called the red haired form "The Saiyan God" and then this new form could be called "Super Saiyan God".

Exactly. So maybe by achieving "Super Saiyan God" it sorta made them start over? Like Super Saiyan God became their new base forms? And maybe they can still turn SS2/SS3 but it's something they have to work towards again? Maybe it's a hybrid transformation? If Goku's hair turned that color when he fought Beerus it would make more sense...

So, just finished listening to the podcast. Julian's opinions on the movie were welcomed, but I found one tidbit particularly interesting. That being Julian's statement that the film hints/suggests that Freeza was able to control/pick the color of his new form. I'm seriously wondering if he didn't go with gold in-universe just as an attempt to mock the Super Saiyans.

I hope this is not serious, I mean... It's just no fun at all, it doesn't show his training properly put says that he can choose whatever the color he want to his new form? What a shame.

Officially Goku is supposed to be 5'9 (the global average for a man is 5'9, for Caucasians it is 5'10). Gohan is 5'9.25. Goku however, appears to look more like a guy who is 5'7 or 5'8 in most cases. Vegeta is crazy short for males! Saiyans appear to be taller on average from what we've seen, where Raditz looks to be around 6'3 and Nappa almost 7 feet tall. King Vegeta is just as tall as Tenshinhan if not taller if I'm not mistaken. Vegeta is just a really short guy.

For manga readers... Are character heights somewhat consistent? I never read the entire manga, but in anime seems pretty inconsistent, Vegeta grew some inches in Android Arc and in Boo Arc, Goku also appears to grew taller too.

There's no hint that were getting another movie.

Well, If RF does as well as or better than BoG I think that will more or less confirms a third film will happen. I have a feeling RF will do really well.

Resurrection F will make a crap load of money internationally, I know that much. Freeza is most popular DB villain in the west and whole idea of seeing him return, and on the big screen no less, is more than enough of a reason for many hardcore fans to shell out to see the movie.

Freeza is in fact one of the most popular villains in DB story, but his time had passed, we had enough of him in anime filler, OVA, Fusion Reborn and GT.

RoF make he looks like just a sparring partner to both Goku and Vegeta, no real despair at all... It's just disappointing.

I absolutely love that design!. What they call it doesn't bother me if I'm honest, but perhaps (just to make it easier) call it an Ascended Super Saiyan God?.
Toriyama's design (assuming that's what the drawing is in the bottom left hand corner) looks fantastic.

Definitely looked better in my head, but I can't say I dislike the design of the form.

Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan ?

Why not just call it what Goku did ? It's normal Ssj but due to him absorbing the Ssjg powers the hair is blue instead of yellow.

In terms of the color I think it looks great,thankfully it's not too bright which is what I thought it would be thanks to those leaked figures.

It'll be interesting to see if Toriyama does the same with the other 2 forms in future movies.

I never knew why the BoG magenta form was called >Super< Saiyan God. For a start, it didn't have the hair style of a SSJ. That form should simply be called Saiyan God, and this blue new thing should be called Super Saiyan God. Makes more sense this way, I think?

It does, and I think it goes back to the original script for BOG that had ssjg form as blonde like regular ssj is. They just never/couldn't change the name.

If the naming is a trolling of sorts, I would not be surprised. So much of the Buu arc was that way, making fun of itself.
