Am I the only one who's frustrated by the RNG system? My brother and I are having a race to see who could get all super attacks first. So far, he's ahead of me, but only because he somehow gets most of the skills in a quest on his first try, whereas it takes me at least ten tries to get one.
Hopefully Dimps will learn from this and scrap the whole RNG system. At least Ultimate Tenkaichi had super moves that you didn't need to spend 5 hours+ just to get. Lady Luck obviously hates me and I can't do a thing about it.

Trust me you're not the only one. After you finish the Story and all there's left for you to do in grinding for attacks and clothes, you get burnt out REAL quick with not much payout in the end. The RNG has been toned down a bit and it indeed easier for attacks and clothes to drop, but it's still a bit tedious, if bored, change up your quest and/or character every now and then or do them in a pattern. The Desert Bandit wrote:Am I the only one who's frustrated by the RNG system? Yeah, the RNG has thankfully been lightened up a LOT with recent patches, but it can still be far more of a pain than it should ever, EVER be.
That said though, woo-hoo! I have finished my training with Beerus, which completes my training with ALL mentors! Unfortunately that means other than DLC, all that's left for me to do is the grinding for the rest of the attacks and outfit items I need...so ack.

Just make sure that Videl's the last one to go down in that mission, it's not that bad. Especially now that the RNG's been toned down so muchLord Beerus wrote:Okay, I've hit a bit of road block with Gohan and Videl's training, as I need to get the Z soul "I... I'm okay" from PQ 47. So... yeah. Fuck that shit. I'm gonna go train with Gotenks instead.

I've been grinding for attacks/outfits/dragon balls while training with all mentors. So far, I'm halfway-done with Beerus. After him, all I have left are Cell, 18, and Tien, if you count DLC. Then I have to deal with Pan come the 14th.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Yeah, the RNG has thankfully been lightened up a LOT with recent patches, but it can still be far more of a pain than it should ever, EVER be.

I'm going to be pissed if they use the "new" form's name in Xenoverse AND the characters are new slots and not costume transformations or something. I'd hate to see giant "Goku (Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan)" titles flying all over the screen. I already think Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan 4 are too long as it is...

The more I hear about the patches and DLC, the happier I am that I'm waiting to play this. The RNG bullshit would have driven me insane.

Just maxed out my male Saiyan character at level 85.
Moving on to my Freeza character now.

Is there any advantage to doing a second playthrough beyond getting to play the game again? Like, can you transfer items from a 100% save file to a new one and start off with a bunch of killer gear?

I'm waiting for next week's DLC to max out my character. Those parallel quests and time patrol quests will easily bring me to 85.
From what I understand, all of your equipment, items. etc. are shared between your created characters, so, for example, you can buy clothes while you're using one character for another one you're planning on creating.johnboy1 wrote:Is there any advantage to doing a second playthrough beyond getting to play the game again? My male Saiyan is at either 83 or 84, I forget. All of my other alts are still at 1 I think cuz I've not really used them yet save for making them. I'll power level them later on.

The second experience is not like the first. You don't actually start over again. Your new characters are in the same Toki Toki City you left off at with the previous character (all your previous gear, unlocked attacks, etc) and in order to replay the story, you need to go to the Time Storage Vault and select the chapters.johnboy1 wrote:Is there any advantage to doing a second playthrough beyond getting to play the game again? So at what point do we get diminished returns? I hear the difference between 75 and 100 isn't much for a stat. Also that 75 is where you should cap a stat.
I'm kinda thinking in a Dark Souls mindset where stats eventually bring diminished returns and aren't worth investing in. For Dark Souls I believe 40 was when the stat returns were pretty small.
I looked here and it seems there are no diminished returns. So I don't get the whole 75 thing

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Well it really depends on the stat as well as what gear you're using. Dimps thought it would be a good idea to make the stat distribution system more complicated than what the game actually shows. :/dbzfan7 wrote:So at what point do we get diminished returns? I see the number '75' as being the best place to stop being tossed around on various sites, so what I would recommend doing is taking that notion and applying it to places you feel would be most beneficial to your play style. That's what I've done with mine now and it seems to be working out pretty great.

My main character (Who's an Earthling) is at 83. Grinding to 85 is harder than I thought. Lol. After I get him to 85, I may move onto leveling up either my female Saiyan or Namekian.

Yeah, the new levels are super annoying to grind. You go from requiring around 50k to reach 81 to around 650k to reach 85. I can't help but wonder how much EXP will be required if we ever get a bump up to 99/100.

Well, if want those 15 extra attribute points, DIMPS obviously feels like you have to really earn them.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Yeah, the new levels are super annoying to grind. BlazingBarrrager wrote:The reason for not investing in Stamina (like me for example) is because you can work with 4 bars of Stamina if you play smart. The primary use for Stamina is to use Vanish to escape a combo. Evasive skills are really only for escaping Ultimates and such. Having 4 bars of Stamina guarantees you 2 Vanish uses which is plenty to work with if you're playing a Ki Blast user. Even though I'm doing a balance between basic and ki blasts, 4 bars of Stamina is still enough to work with. If I needed more, I would have to invest points to gain 2 more bars (which is 50 points needed) as one extra bar of Stamina isn't going to do shit. Obviously that would take out of what I have invested in points big time. Another advantage to having low Stamina is that you recover from Guard Break faster as the recovery rate doesn't speed up if you have more Stamina. The more Stamina you have, the longer it takes to get out of Guard Break.
You can (could) escape Ultimate Skills with Evasive skills?!
