I imagine 9 and 10 have the same preview due to 10 being skipped over in the syndicated airing. Episode 10 wasn't aired until 1998 when DBZ had it's first run on Toonami, so that might be why. But then again, if episode 10 aired on Toonami two years later, I suppose episode 9 should have had a preview for episode 10 then.TheBalishChannel wrote:The Madman DVD's include all of the correct recaps and next episode previews for all of the Ocean-dubbed episodes. The Pioneer DVD's are marathoned and thus only include the recap for the first episode on a DVD and a next episode preview for the last episode on a DVD. The only problem with Madman's release is the "ghosting" due to the PAL conversion or whatever. If it weren't for that, I'd say the Madman DVD's are the definitive way to watch the Ocean dub. The reason for that is because for some reason, episode 9 on the "Rock The Dragon Edition" set uses episode 10's next episode preview, so both episode 9 and 10 share the same next episode preview. I do know that other countries in the UK got some official Ocean-dubbed DVD's but I don't think they ever made it past episode 4 or 5.Vidmusc wrote:What's the difference between the Pioneer and Madman releases?
Also where can you get V-Jump? I saw someone in the thread and a V-Jump magazine, and got curious.
What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?

Here is a quick table I made up for Episode, AUS vs. US... AUS on the LEFT, US on the RIGHT;

Thanks for the comparison screenshots!
That looks a lot better than the Pioneer sets. Kinda upsets me now that we didn't get a decent release of the first 53 (67) episodes until the Rock the Dragon Edition set.

I don't really know, but I would assume you can't, since the Xbox Live/PSN stores are region based.MCDaveG wrote:You probably can't unlock Vegeta this way in other version than Japanese right?
I usually end up ordering mine from Amazon Japan, but CD Japan and I think Play-Asia sell them too.Vidmusc wrote:Also where can you get V-Jump? I saw someone in the thread and a V-Jump magazine, and got curious.
Just keep in mind that the availability of each issue is limited, especially if it features something popular.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
Interesting. Somehow I remember that on the left. I watched the US Ocean Dub release on VHS and I vividly remember "stand by for Dragon Ball Z.... Coming next!!" with dragon balls in a dark background. The episode titles look exactly the same as I remember.LordCrumb wrote:Here is a quick table I made up for Episode, AUS vs. US... Spoiler:
Were there 2 different Ocean releases somehow? Unless I just happened to have VHS tapes with AUS material?

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I'd say the VHS was probably as how you remember it. They must have changed it for the DVD release.
Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I wouldn't be surprised. The VHS release for 'Arrival' came out in 1997, and the DVD didn't come out until 1999.LordCrumb wrote:I'd say the VHS was probably as how you remember it. They must have changed it for the DVD release.

No fancy picture for me, but I picked up Xenoverse with my PS4 yesterday, so that's pretty awesome.

Re: What's your most recent Dragonball purchase?
I recently finished collecting the Frieza saga in the old Funi singles just so I can get the original unaltered dub with Sabat's original Vegeta, Dale Kelly etc..
I've now got all the singles from Ginyu Assault to Prelude to Terror which covers the Ginyu-Trunks sagas. I was considering collecting them for the entire series but decided against it as the Orange Brick dub wasn't altered much from the Trunks saga onwards, although I will miss out on some more Dale Kelly. Interestingly I've read that there are 2 versions of the Prelude to Terror DVD, one with 3 episodes and one with 5 episodes. I happened to get the 3 episode version so it misses out the last 2 episodes of the Trunks saga.

So I finally caved and bought this lil' guy since I saw him going for only like $12 something, and with free shipping to boot. Now I just eagerly await his arrival, which uh...could take a bit, since I didn't spring for the expedited shipping since that would have doubled the price right there.

Just picked up DBZKai Part 8 on Blu-Ray. I think I might be one of the worst DB collectors ever.
My Kai collection currently consists of Madman DVDs, Madman Blu-Rays and a lone US release of Part 4 on DVD.
