It was an unexpected twist and I appreciate the element of "surprise-I'm-strong" in magenta ssjg that I felt was kind of missing since Gokû's growth spurt.

I dunno, Vegeta certainly landed a good number of blows on Beerus as a regular Super Saiyan in Battle of Gods, so I wouldn't say the form is useless, just Gohan in the new film.

You can pause any cut and find an ugly frame. It looks fine in motion. Not spectacular, but not horrible either.

The earlier parts were a bit ok, its the kamehame ha part that looks horrible.

Exactly, it always bugs me how people rake through frames to find deformed faces in tweens to use as evidence of bad animation, as though in-motion frames of any live action film wouldn't include any strange looking facial expressions by the actors.

For some reason I was under the impression that the LA screening would be at midnight, not morning time. I'm glad I was wrong because I'd say by 3 and/or 4pm the latest we'll have even more thoughts and writings about Rof!
I liked the CGI in BoG so it goes without saying I like the CGI in this movie. To be honest if folks hadn't pointed out Goku's goofy face I wouldn't have picked up on it. I was lost in the hype of "OMG! CGI Kamehameha!"

At least my suspicions that Vegeta is doing the super-deep voice on purpose to look "cool" are confirmed. :3
Gokû's voice doesn't change at all in ssjblue. It's his regular ol' ssj1 voice. XD
