Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Anyone who has seen the movie know if vegeta is in his ssj god state or base when freeza blows up earth? Also did the explosion kill him or lack of air?
He's in his blue form. Freeza puts his hand to the ground and then everything explodes around them as tornadoes of fire blast up from the ground similar to what we saw on Namek.
You don't see specifically how he dies as it cuts to Whis teleporting everyone into space as Earth explodes (the scene we saw in the trailer).

Hmm,so it was like a core bust thing, kinda like on namek just super fast?Though the explosion is pink/purple in color similar to freeza's ki.
Whats with the scream in the trailer?Does it actually happen when earth explodes or was it just added from another point in the movie.
Wow, people calling it the best film in the franchise and I even read one person saying it was way better then BoG! So excited, come on MangaUK license this already!!!
I take it that people that didn't like BoG liked this movie better....

Imagine if DB started these days. It would go like this:
"hey, what's happening in Dragon Ball today?"
"Goku wants Mutenroshi to train him, so he's bringing him some chicks now."
"oh i see, just slice of life filler then. skippable. "
Chuquita wrote:Wow, maybe the really good parts of the movie didn't come across in the summary if it's getting such overwhelmingly positive feedback. O_O
The summary made it seem average.
*Waits for detailed version of summary*.
Yeah, I believe SaiyaJedi said a lot of stuff did not come across well in that summary hence why he wanted to do a detailed one.

From what I can tell this movie is BoG but with more/longer fight scenes, I think it'll please both.
I'd take people's instant reactions with a pinch of salt. Wait for all the hype from the event to subside and then see what the general reaction is like.
With that said, a summary is never going to do a film steeped in action justice. That kinda thing is all spectacle.
Seeing that fight in the TV spot, I can tell I will like this movie.
Goku's pose at 0:01 is so damn cool. He'd look better as a regular SSJ though; the blue is so lame. Almost as lame as modern Gohan and Piccolo sweating against a mook.
But yeah, I will probably like this movie more than BoG. lol.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Gohan didn't sweat against a mook, he one-shotted him like he was nothing at all.

Let's hope Manga UK are at least trying their best to make something happen, I'd be happy to travel to London, or even further just to catch a screening.
If they can't do anything, it would end up being a wait for it to be released on home video, which could be towards the very back end of the year.
I know I shouldn't be... but part of me is eager to see how certain folks online are going to react to a certain character surviving while another certain character ties his death count.
That said, glad people really seem to love this movie so far.

That's because it's fight over story. These generally come from the same people who thinks "Movie 8" is a masterpiece.
That's quite the assumption there.

I didn't say that it wont please BoG fans, I'm sure I will like some parts, maybe I would like it more that what I expect to....
But for what I can tell with the summary, the CGI in the last ad, like Chuquita said, it looks/sounds average.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.
