DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

Why would they? It's their opinion that it's atrocious. It's anything but EPIC IMHO.

I'm kinda glad that Super Saiyan God hasn't resurfaced, and that the ramifications of the form have been addressed with the new version of Super Saiyan

I mean, I know some people are a bit disappointed that form wasn't explored more, but I think it was only ever meant to be a vehicle for the plot of the last film, and from an in-universe perspective, to open the floor for a new training avenue for Goku and Vegeta. Toriyama even went so far as to explicitly say as much in an interview that Kanzenshuu translated last summer, so really, I don't think anyone should be surprised that Super Saiyan God wasn't used again.

So, the two questions remain:

What situation requested Vegeta to achieve Super Saiyan God?

How Vegeta absorbed Super Saiyan God powers? Is it the default response?

I am so glad that they did Vegeta SSG off screen, that form would not suit him one bit. Blue looks good on both of them so I can see why they went with that instead of the magenta/red for SSGSS. Course I would have preferred it if there was no more Saiyan transformations and just them in base, but it does seem that was no emphasis on this new form in the film and marketing that is plus.

There doesn't need to be a threat that demands Vegeta transform. Goku was able to push farther than he ever had with access to the Godly ki. Vegeta wanted a piece of that, so they probably just did the ritual for his birthday or something. Vegeta is also a genius fighter, so it doesn't seem strange that he'd be able to absorb the power as well.

Maybe none, maybe he didn't need to. After all, he is training with Whis, who I assume is able to train people in the ways of Godly powers. I assume that Beerus wasn't always a God, and at some point, became one, and was trained in those way by, presumably, Whis.

I think that Goku achieving Super Saiyan God was merely a fast-track route to Godly powers for Goku, which in the context of the last film was essentially just to make him capable of fighting with Beerus.

I think Dragonball has a long history of not depicting every single element of a character's training. Take Goku's training with Kami or King Kai, for example. There was always a degree of mystery, and part of the joy of the plot was Goku revealing the fruits of his mysterious training in battle. I don't think this is any different, we know Goku and Vegeta have been training with Whis for an undisclosed period of time, and true to the very nature of Shonen, it's implicit off-the-bat that they've gotten stronger. We don't need a diagram.

I like to think Vegeta took the initiative in bugging everyone to form the circle and give him the powers (maybe even before the night was over, either that or around when he finds out Gokû is going to train under Whis).

Vegeta looks better in blue than magenta, this I agree with. I don't mind that he skipped it off screen.

I still stand by my preference for magenta ssjg Gokû though. I'm gonna have to wait until I see the movie to give full thoughts. Right now I'm ultra disappointed, but it could be that there's stuff in the movie that I'm interested in and would be looking for that the reviews I've read so far didn't mention. BOG definitely had some of that.

In any case, it's not worth it to focus on the parts that make me depressed. I'm told there's amazing dialogue, but I can't know that without reading it. Dialogue cannot be described and expect to make the same impact as seeing the script.

Anyone else thinks Vegeta changed outfits simply because blue hair on blue outfit wouldn't look good?

Very likely. Also the reason Goku's undershirt was removed. Too much blue would clash horribly. It has to accent what's already there rather than overrun it.

Thirded. This is why I was expecting blue for Vegeta on the poster.

But then I thought it might be an attempt to mimic his black outfit from the Freeza arc in the way they balded Kuririn again. Because of that, I was uncertain.

Speaking of outfit changes, I know there is a figure meant to come out for Gohan but is there any info on Goku or Vegeta?

:?: The "Blue SSJ God" is basically "Full Power SSJ God", right?

And a much more important question. Why would Goku be excited about meeting and fighting Uub in the end of DBZ? Uub is at Kid Buu's level. Goku knew about Beerus, Whis, and SSJ God Vegeta years before the end of DBZ but he is really excited to meet and fight such a weak opponent?

Kid Buu's level isn't Uub's max level. He has a potential to get stronger. Frieza reached Goku's level in 4 months. It is unknown how strong Uub can get with training.

As I've said before. Freeza, who was one shot material by Buu, got to SSJG level in a mere 4 months. If someone that weak can become that strong in such a short amount of time, imagine what Uub could do being the reincarnation of Buu in a equal amount of time.

They are not the same species. Freeza is Freeza. Uub is a reincarnation of Kid Buu in a human body. Uub is undeniably the stongest superhuman in DBZ but nothing suggests that he has the same potential as Freeza or the Saiyans. He can't survive if he's chopped into pieces like Freeza was, he doesn't get zenkai boosts like the Saiyans do, and there is no "super human god" ritual to give Uub a power boost.

I don't have a problem with Battle of Gods and Revival of Freeza contradicting pretty much everything in DBGT but I do have a huge problem with these movies contradicting the ending of DBZ as it was in the manga.
