Goku and Vegeta with God Ki = Biologically Immortal?

I guess I always imagined there was some kind of work around that would take place for low-lifespan characters if they took up the title of Kami or Haikaishin in order to make them live significantly longer.

I mean, considering random Namekians can create Dragon Balls that grant true immortality, it's probably not that far-fetched to believe there's a work-around to make characters longer lived to take up positions of cosmic authority.

Agreed! I think an extremely long life span it's possible granted by a very amazing fuel(God energy). Maybe Goku could live for very long time now, but he will give up to use God Ki because he doesn't want to live without his family as he will out live them all. Or maybe Vegeta will decide to do so, and Goku not having a sparring partner for the rest of his life will follow Vegeta.

If that's the case, then what's stopping Goku from deciding to live permanently in the afterlife while he's still alive? He can teleport between the living realm and the afterlife very easily. If Vegeta wanted to do the same, Goku can transport Vegeta there as well. And I doubt any of the higher beings would have a problem with it since Goku's friends with them.
