Because she indeed knows. Naho at least never stated such things. Fresh memory > old memory.Marco Polo wrote:fexus wrote: Toriyama -- the guy who flat out stated that Naho Ooishi knows more about DB than he does.

And that's the story of how Toriayama was fired because his editors can do a better job than him at making character interaction.Doctor. wrote:Any of his editors.fexus wrote:He knows the most about his character. I didn't say better, you asked who can make character interactions as good as Toriyama or make them feel the same way as when he does them; and his editors have had calls regarding character interactions before, not to mention they've supervised everything Toriyama has ever done, so they know almost as much as he does.fexus wrote:And that's the story of how Toriayama was fired because his editors can do a better job than him at making character interaction.

I like to think of the writer and editor as a team; you won't get the same results if you only have one of them.

It's not. Both BoG & FnF show us that base Goku is almost as strong as Super Saiyan God, and Beerus even says that the decrease in power is insignificant, and it's shown in FnF that SSGSS is stronger than base with God power. Which means that SSGSS is stronger than SSG.Marlowe89 wrote:This is pure speculation on your part. Goku has absorbed SSG's power, but the simple fact that he transformed into SS at all in BoG directly suggests that he can't simply tap into all of it in base. There has been no official explanation regarding the difference in raw power between the blue and yellow forms after Goku absorbed SSG aside from his mastery of God ki. I think you're either reading too deeply into this or you want SSGSS to be something that it's not.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:It increases base Goku's strength, who is around as strong as SSGod.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

TL;DR - People tend to excuse Gohan's modern day pansy ass by saying he never liked to fight and is now too busy to train. The former is not true, and the latter is not a valid excuse from a writing point of view... at all. Gohan can be like Clark Kent (scholar) / Superman (Ultimate/Mystic) if they wanted him to.
Spoiler:
Folks gotta let that go.

So the reviews on Riga aren't really all that good, only a 3.2/5.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
Just now thought to ask; are there any comedic "Vegeta reaction faces" in this movie? Those are always fun (Movie 12 has a slew of them. BOG has a nice handful, and more that were in the mook that went unused).

While it is indeed in-character, it's about damn time he receives that character development that he has been needing since the Cell arc (and that when he gets close to receiving it, it's just tossed aside), as in that he actually takes on the mantle and puts his own desires to the side for the protection of the Earth. Training one hour per day won't make his life that difficult, would it? He's lazy.ShadowWolf87 wrote:Not the most accurate translation is the poor scans online but this is accurate enough. Kid didn't throw himself into fighting like Goku or Vegeta did, didn't particularly enjoy it. And there is indeed precedent for him not training during times of peace. It's in-character.

We saw one in those movie pamphlets posted a while back of Vegeta arguing with Goku (possibly right after Goku kills Freeza).Just now thought to ask; are there any comedic "Vegeta reaction faces" in this movie? The score dropped to a 2.7/5. Uh oh...

It was 2.2 a few hours ago.TheGmGoken wrote:The score dropped to a 2.7/5. Uh oh...
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
It's down to 2.7 now.
I think it was partly due to the marketing, partly due to the bar BOG set in terms of expanding the universe (imo).
From what I've read it fits in fine with the first 13 films, but after BOG it's hard to go back, you know.

Are those reviews from well respected critics or just anybody though? Seems a bit of a low score to take seriously and seems to be going down, so I'll take it with a pinch of salt.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
How many of those reviews are actually talking about the movie rather than power levels?

Like I said earlier, browsing through with Google Translate it seemed like half the negative reviews were "This wasn't like BOG" and the other half was "it's garbage; power levels don't make sense".fexus wrote:How many of those reviews are actually talking about the movie rather than power levels?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
Pretty disappointing considering all the anticipation, the other films weren't very good at all, in fact none of them were "good" films so if this is closer to that then BoG then...yeah disappointing.
To be honest the signs were there from early on.

You guys might not care about them; you guys might refuse to acknowledge them, but the powerlevels being iffy is a legitimate complaint.
