Huh. There's a similar input used in Ultimate Battle 22 to unlock the other 5 characters ( Up, Triangle, Down, X, Left, L1, Right, R1).

I know, right? Goku gets three playable versions and 'geter gets one and nothing but supports otherwise.

I had high expectations for this game, as a fan of Butouden which were the first games I ever played and still love SB2 to this day.
But I am somewhat left unimpressed. Don't know why this game reminds me of Taiketsu, but all in all, I don't like the game visually and won't ever play it :/

Never had this kind of feeling before about DB game. It's like the game is 20 years old also, coming out now.
And I did enjoy Ultimate Butouden a lot :)

Have you tried the demo? I was unimpressed with the videos too, but try playing the demo, it's actually pretty fun to play

Question. Does the game have any other specials besides the iconic Butouden style ones? Can we do a Kamehameha in real-time?

Looks like a great game, I think it'll be fun but nothing to invest hours upon hours upon hours into. I'll probably only play it about as much as I would an addicting iPhone app or whatever.

Near the 40 second mark, it appears Extreme Butoden is getting a (partially poorly drawn) animated opening...?

Sleeping. I didn't see anyone posting this, so... :silent:

EDIT: I think this is like those story modes where Bardock doesn't "die" and goes on to meet the warriors.

Oh well... Yet another just video-game "what-if" scenario where Bardock meets Kakarot... And we continue to get old villains coming back for no purpose other than to kill.

It's looking really good. C'mon Namco just fucking announce a release date for the west already.

Coudl you drop the "that thing" thing out? Like, I know what you're talking about, everyone else knows what you're talking about and you know it as well. You don't like the character, fine, most of us on the forum don't as well, but will you lose a an arm or a leg if you suddenly write Broly? (which is shorter than what you use to refer to him, by the way)

Nah, I would just contribute to the massive wave of "Broly" it gets every moment... It is in everywhere, being commented around the world... Can't join them.

The more I play this demo, the more I like the game. Gameplay is simple but there is definitely some depth to it. Of the characters in the demo, Gohan seems to have the most open-ended combo system. He can land a standard combo (Y, Y, Y) into a launcher (X) and then extend the combo using forward+X for a series of mid-air kick rushes. I was able to land 2 kick rush series this morning. The variety of uses for the Z Assists are really great as well. Most of the assists do have some start up to take into consideration. So far, Great Saiyaman is my favorite as his dropkick goes far and can be used to chip away at the opponent's guard bar, to apply pressure, or to extend a combo. Pu'ar is also good but a bit risky as the opponent might grab the senzu bean. Generally speaking, the higher the power of the assist, the slower the start up.

I really wish Namco Bandai would announce a US release for this game soon. The game already looks amazing to play.
