Why don't the movies fit into canon?

Now, I know that all of the movies (except for #9) don't fit into canon. May I ask, why? Does anyone have concise, logical reasonings? If somebody has a link or something I would appreciate it.

Well I'm sure there's a reference somewhere out there but basically the reason is that things in the movie conflict with things that happen in the series. For example, in the first movie, Kuririn encounters Gohan pre DBZ, but in the actual series he has no idea who he is until the reunion. Or as a better example in Movie 12, both Gokuh and Vegeta are dead, and there is no point during the series at which they could have been dead at the same time unless it was in the middle of their fight with Buu....which kind of doesn't make sense considering they're not doing anything related to that.

First!

-edit- Actually, I'm the second one. Mr. Announcer beat me to it.

Movie 1: Everyone sees Gohan for the first time on Roshi's island. Then again there was an entire saga after the main villian so...Dragonball usage.

Movie 2: Goku uses Kaioken and Piccolo is alive. Dragonball usage.

Movie 3:The heroes being alive and Goku using Kaio moves

Movie 4: Lord Slug; ask Mike.

Movie 5: It could happen... but, uh, Vegeta would probably fight.

Movie 6: Goku's heart virus.. no Trunks.. that whole Android threat..etc.

Movie 7: The Androids and Goku's heart virus.

Movie 8: Broli's a joke. But, uh, Goku and Gohan not being at full power saiyajin status. All I can think of for now.

Movie 9: This could happen.. but Goku appearing and hitting Bojack was weird. Plus Vegeta's "retirement".

Movie 10: The fact that Broli survived! Dragonball usage.

Movie 11: Krillin should be stone and the boys should be following the others. Satan stays at the tournament until Vegeta attacks.

Movie 12: No Buu. Dragonball usage. Gohan's location.

Movie 13: Could actually fit in. Dragonball usage. (Future)Trunks' sword. Also, SSJ3 Goku doing better than Mystic Gohan.

It was just chipped from the android fight, not destroyed.

It's because they're movies. They're not created for people to say 'More adventures of Goku and Vegeta killing Androids and demonds and 10 foot Big Greens?', no they were created as something to enjoy, it's like what Goku would do on his days off =)

The series is pretty packed which leaves very little space for other adventures like the movies.

Plus Vegeta's "retirement".

Vegeta said he'd never fight again after the Cell saga, so that makes perfect sense.

That's more evidence the series was going to end with Cell. But don't worry, Goku comes back to life and has a new form so he can fight the villian that turns people to candy.
