No, he wouldn't. Squared is a word to represent a shape and if he doesn't want to agree and want to call squared spherical, that's his problem. I'm just saying this to show that something can be vastly different on what people think. All this words represent things as supposed to is all because we have agreed upon it. At the end of the day, it's all opinions.
They would be disagreeing regarding what
name to call it, not the shape.
You are confusing "disagreement in naming conventions" with "disagreement regarding whether something fits a given definition or not".
Situation 1 - If two people disagree whether a scent fits into the definition of good, then we have a "disagreement regarding whether something fits a given definition or not". Since it's a subjective definition, this is a true disagreement and no one can prove the other wrong.
Situation 2 - If two people disagree whether Earth fits into the definition of spherical, we once again have a "disagreement regarding whether something fits a given definition or not". Only now we have a objective definition and so one can prove the other wrong.
Situation 3 - Two people disagree regarding what the term "Verisimilitude" means. Here we have a "disagreement in naming convention", which is clearly different from the other situations.
You are simply mixing all this together.
