Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.
Beerus-sama wrote:Maybe he told him that before he met Beerus...
It's the way it seems to be phrased in the present that's a bit bothersome. He talks about how his father told him to stay away from Beerus and Buu, but if he's previously gotten his ass kicked by Beerus, one would think he would phrase it a bit more clearly. Make it seem as though Freeza has personal experience to stay away from the Hakaishin rather than just going of his father's word.
It's just something that a very minor tweak could have helped the flow/consistency a bit, but there's also the chance that Freeza doesn't want to admit how many times he's gotten his ass kicked before to his men. So whatever. Not that big of a deal.
And maybe it was said like that so that it doesn't tell that they met in the past...although it was revealed later when he recognize Beerus...
But maybe revealing it so soon would take the attention from the main plot to their past...

These days people start throwing the words "filler" and "silce of life" everytime characters aren't punching each other. No matter if something is moving the plot or there's character exposition.
Imagine if DB started these days. It would go like this:
"hey, what's happening in Dragon Ball today?"
"Goku wants Mutenroshi to train him, so he's bringing him some chicks now."
"oh i see, just slice of life filler then. skippable. "
I feel that Toriyama really, really loves his Beerus character.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Why wouldn't he? Beerus is the best thing to happen to the franchise in damn near 20 years.

Akira Toriyama wrote:My policy is to try and forget things once they’re over. Since if I don’t discard the old and focus on what’s new, I’ll overload my brain capacity. I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

We know that when his daughter showed to people a picture of his cat no one said it was cute

This is... true.
Still, I can't help but feel the guy is going to squeeze Beerus' presence onto everything from now on.
What we know:
- Beerus would have destroyed Planet Vegeta even if Frieza didn't do anything.
- Frieza knew of Beerus, and got his clocked clean by him in the past, even though Frieza loved bragging about his absolute power.
What may be revealed:
- Dr. Gero came into contact with Beerus. In exchange for some food, he obtained the infinite energy needed to power his androids.
- Majin Buu was a flawed God of Destruction before Beerus took his place.
Stuff like that. >.>

I love your fanfic (I'm waiting for the next chapter, btw I wonder how the story would go now that everyone knows he's a mortal and he would be training with Dai Kaiosama )
but I would also like to know more about Toriyama's version of Beerus' history :3

That twitch stream rocked! Sean & Chris were on fire at times! - so great to see the passion oozing out of them for Dragon Ball Z. Oh, and the small matter of Mr. Ayres returning was just a little bit awesome.
