Piccolo is on a close level to Goku, Sorbet is so laughably below him it'd be like a mosquito bite at best if he tried to harm SSGSS Goku. Is Sorbet secretly part of some Lantern core from the DC Universe, and that's why his ring has the power to even kill Freeza too? He alone has a good killing ring, and no one else seems to get one of these super rings? So then Mr. Satan with a hand gun can blow a hole through Freeza's head so long as Freeza doesn't pay attention to him and is not keeping his ki up for defense.KaiserNeko wrote:Also: Why the hell is it a big deal that Sorbet had a ring that could pierce Goku with his guard down? It's just like Piccolo Jr. when he Goku was celebrating his victory. Whis makes it very clear that even weak attacks can still do tremendous damage when off your guard, because you're not focusing on keeping Ki on defense.

Clearly Toriyama and/or Toei's writers simply don't give a fabulous flying fishstick about fans' preconceptions on power gaps and damage feasibility.

Well, when you take into consideration that SSJ Vegeta was able to make Beerus bleed with a series of punches, I think BOG did it's own job of making and then breaking their own rules.Doctor. wrote:Battle of Gods took the time establishing that the Godly realm is way above mortals and that Ki can't normally harm beings with Godly Ki, and then RF throws that out of the window with a ridiculous gap between two characters. 1.He did survive the planet exploding he took stronger attack from Golden Freeza with no problemPiririn wrote:[Vegeta may not have suffocated. If he'd survived the force of the explosion, Goku and Co. would've been able to sense his ki and save him from suffocating in space. It would've taken a few minutes for him to die, so there would've been enough time to add him to the bubble if he'd been alive. Less than three minutes pass from the explosion to Whis turning back time.
2.Why would it take Vegeta a few minutes to die do you know what happens when you're in space? It only takes a couple seconds
3.Beerus and Whis more than likely didn't save Vegeta becuase it was his fight, and show Goku how his actions killed basically everyone
This whole movie was a training lesson

Wait, I want to know specifically where it's stated that those with God ki cannot be harmed by regular ki, even when those with God ki have let down their guard. Because the whole "Vegeta VS Beerus" fight would like a word with you.Doctor. wrote:Battle of Gods took the time establishing that the Godly realm is way above mortals and that Ki can't normally harm beings with Godly Ki, and then RF throws that out of the window with a ridiculous gap between two characters. As far as that ring goes, we have no idea how strong it is or the kind of concentration it has. Comparing it to a bullet doesn't do it justice.

This might be true, but at the same time, how many times has something been established in the series only for it to turn out that that's not the case? Yeah. A lot. And besides, if that's the whole hang up, then why is the ring specifically what is being singled out at this time? There's apparently no indication that Freeza's power up gave him God ki at all, and yet he at least gets in the ballpark range of a Super Saiyan God's power. There's also nothing stated in Battle of Gods that says for a fact that God ki users can never be beaten by normal ki users either. God ki seems to just be a more 'pure' energy, and likely any..."levels"...or amounts of it are stronger than the same amount of normal ki (like 50 god ki is going to be stronger than 50 ki, or...I dunno...normal ki is a penny and God ki is a dollar, or something).Doctor. wrote:Battle of Gods took the time establishing that the Godly realm is way above mortals and that Ki can't normally harm beings with Godly Ki, and then RF throws that out of the window with a ridiculous gap between two characters. This is all my preconception from what Battle of Gods actually gave us, though, and I admit that it's just that - a preconception. My best guess. Exactly the same as what your stating is for you, because, again, no such thing was actually stated in Battle of Gods.
Thank kami, as they shouldn't be.Kaboom wrote:Clearly Toriyama and/or Toei's writers simply don't give a fabulous flying fishstick about fans' preconceptions on power gaps and damage feasibility.
I mean, people are allowed to focus on the areas of the franchise that interest them the most, that's fine. And for a lot of people, that seems to be on power related things. And that's fine too. But it probably wouldn't hurt for people to bear in mind that this is a story where our main character's original birth name is a pun on carrot, his entire race is a pun on vegetables, and the evil galactic overlord was a refrigerator. Also, there's a lot of poop jokes.

That's different because Beerus greatly implied that he held back his power in order to find out if Vegeta's power was the Super Saiyan God or not.KaiserNeko wrote:Because the whole "Vegeta VS Beerus" fight would like a word with you.
Look, I get what they were going for, I really do, and I wouldn't be complaining if it didn't irk me so much; the same effect could have been granted with close to ZERO complaints if Freeza pulled a Piccolo Jr instead of Sorbet sneak-attacking Goku. The film tried to force a weakness onto Goku, the least they could do is execute it in a fashion that wouldn't bring up so much controversy.
You're implying that the only ones who are complaining are the ones who put power levels above all else, that's not true. What interests me more is the character interaction, but I'm also not gonna keep my mouth shut when I think there's a huge inconsistency present somewhere; I wouldn't be complaining if Freeza in his first form got an attack like that on Goku, not at all. But keep in mind, that despite what most people here want to believe, Dragon Ball is a battle series first and a comedy second, regardless of whether or not it started that way.Gyt Kaliba wrote:I mean, people are allowed to focus on the areas of the franchise that interest them the most, that's fine. Pretty much this. You dont need to sense the guy to walk up and punch him in the face. Though why someone would wanna punch The Super Awesome Purple Death Kitty and his Master Space Dandy is beyond me.KaiserNeko wrote:Wait, I want to know specifically where it's stated that those with God ki cannot be harmed by regular ki, even when those with God ki have let down their guard. Err no he didn't and that does not make sense, why would Beerus hold back his power if he wanted to know weather Vegeta was the SSG? Wouldn't he try to use more of his power?Doctor. wrote:That's different because Beerus greatly implied that he held back his power in order to find out if Vegeta's power was the Super Saiyan God or not.KaiserNeko wrote:Because the whole "Vegeta VS Beerus" fight would like a word with you.

Actually, it doesn't take just a couple seconds to die in space. I've read up on that topic before and it'd probably take a couple minutes for the average human to die. They'd lose consciousness fairly quickly, but they'd still be alive.Saiyan007 wrote:1.He did survive the planet exploding he took stronger attack from Golden Freeza with no problemPiririn wrote:[Vegeta may not have suffocated. It's not the force of the explosion that's the killer - it's the molten metal core of the planet. The inner core of the Earth is the same temp as the Sun itself. I doubt Vegeta could endure the surface of the Sun, so being drowned in Sun-temp molten metal seems to me like something he'd also not survive.
Even if Whis and Beerus didn't intervene to save Vegeta, Goku still could. He can teleport, so he would've been able to lock onto Vegeta's ki and transport him back into the bubble.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection '
Why should it be treated any differently than the standard equipment that all soldiers use? Just cause it managed to do the ludicrous? Most wore an arm blaster which was pretty ineffectual to anyone with real fighting capability. Could you honestly see Tenshinhan with a Dodonpa piercing through Freeza's heart and killing him while he's off guard in Golden Shiny Mode? Sorbet apparently has a ring which can KILL SUPER GODS. He could kill even Freeza himself if he wanted to. How did he come across such a ridiculously powerful ring? Why does no one else get this kind of equipment. It's not like it'd make them invincible if they had it, but it'd make them more formidable. Sorbet apparently stumbles upon a yellow power ring from the Sinestro Core and shields it to himself.KaiserNeko wrote:As far as that ring goes, we have no idea how strong it is or the kind of concentration it has. Doctor hit the nail on the head DB heavily focuses on the action and it is one of the main reasons fans watch the series and when you can't even portray the number one reason people watch the show it just leaves a bad taste in fans mouths.
Becuase if the action isn't good what is DB going to rely on??? The plot
Db has an extremely simple plot for the most part bad guys comes get stronger rinse and repeat

I actually enjoyed the adventure and sci-fi elements a lot in DB.
Well, but it's true that what got me into DBZ finally, was Son Goku vs Vegeta in the Buu arc when I was lying in living room on sofa with flu and switching trough channels...

1.Nope it takes 15 seconds for all the air to come out of your body quicker if you try and hold your breath which is the worst thing you can do.No human is surviving minutes out there
2.The sun itself only gives off city level energy every second which is not impressive at all considering Goku,Freeza,Vegeta,Whis and Beerus all have star+ durability.Especially considering the surface area would be tiny becuase Vegeta wouldn't be taken the full brunt of it at all.
3.So why didn't Goku sense Freeza then and kill him for killing all those people?Because he certainly didn't die.The way I heard how the movie goes is Beers and Whis talk to Goku while Bulma is upset and crying so Vegeta could have been very much alive but slowly dying as they kept talking

This. Of all the things to criticize about RoF's plot, I don't think the prospect of Freeza's top grunt being able to shoot a ki blast through Goku's Saiyan physiology specifically while his guard happens to be down is one of them.Kaboom wrote:Clearly Toriyama and/or Toei's writers simply don't give a fabulous flying fishstick about fans' preconceptions on power gaps and damage feasibility.

Someone said many pages before that it was never showed if vegeta survived the explosion or if freeza survived. So i guess that wasnt much of the point, point is vegeta died, freeza may have survived due to being able to breath in space and what not.
As for f vegeta was alive and whis or goku could teleport him in the bubble,eh i think you guys r thinking this through way to much.
It is quite simple if you think about it,planet went boom and majority died, now how they died is up to our imagination ^^.Basically you cant debate it cos its left open for interpretation.

A human loses consciousness in about 15 seconds. They don't die. If returned to a pressurized environment within about 1 1/2 to maybe 3 minutes, they can recover. There's many near-vacuum experiments that have been conducted on animals, and chimps can survive and recover from up to 3.5 minutes of it.Saiyan007 wrote:

I don't understand your second section's points... What is star+ durability? And the temp of the surface of the Sun is 10k degrees Fahrenheit. The full brunt wouldn't matter, since it's not the force that's killer. It's the devastating heat.
There's no way Vegeta was dying while they were talking. Somebody would've sensed his ki and Goku would've teleported over to save him. Besides, if Whis was trying to teach consequences, it'd be a far more effective lesson if Vegeta (who is also one of his students) was included (saved from space and transported back in time with them) so he could learn it as well. Even if Whis was willing to let Vegeta die in space, nobody else except Beerus would've accepted that. There'd be a commotion about how Vegeta's still alive and Goku would've gone and retrieved him.
As for Goku not killing Freeza... There was no dire need to kill Freeza at that moment. But Vegeta suffocating would be a dire situation.
