No, they didn't Simulcast Kai during any of its runs.
They do, however, Simulcast One Piece which is another Toei show, so we know it's certainly possible due to that.
Yeah, they simulcast One Piece, which is a huge deal. But it's still worrisome that they never got Kai simulcasted. However, I bet FUNimation will try even harder to get this simulcasted.

My main concern is who's doing the music and how it will rate in comparison to Kai.
No offense, but I really want/need it to be better.
Twilight: My library?! My library!! Do you have any idea how many books I had in there?!
Lord Tirek: How many, little princess?
Twilight: Over NINE THOUSAND!!!

Given that he was chosen even for the most recent movie, it will likely be Sumitomo, just like Kai and the new Toriyama movies.
The quality might depend on the budget that Toei is willing to allow for it. It was felt by fans that Kai was primarly meant for the international market and therefore had a terribly low budget, which can be heard.
If this new series goes with a more regular budget, then you'll have the high quality of Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F', pretty hard to top it!

I was just talking about how awesome a new series would be...the other day.
Now it's actually going to happen. Unreal. So hype.

Like many i am both excited and concerned about this. I'm not a fan of the animation at all right now, it's too different from how Dragonball used to look. And Akira Toriyama's idea's of late have not exactly been very good, some of the stuff he has come up with of late is the stuff you would see in Dragonball GT.
I hope we get to see these 12 Universes and i hope that it isn't the Goku and Vegeta show. Goku is my favourite character, but i'm tired of the show being dominated by Saiyan's and their transformations, it's not original at all. The humans and Piccolo need some air time again. The problem is, i can't see that happening now because Goku and Vegeta's power is far beyond any of the other characters.
I hope it takes place after Goku takes Uub away to train him and we get a series that is around the same length as Dragonball. So about 150 episodes.

I haven't minded Kai 2.0's music TBH, I'm one of the few who thinks it's ok, but it certainly hasn't blown me away either so I kinda mirror this sentiment.... Honestly, I loved Yamamoto's so the scandal makes me really sad we won't get any more from him.

The French forum db-z.com talked to Toei right after the announcement.
DB-Z.COM: "We just learned about the new anime Dragon Ball Super to be aired in Japan. What about its airing in France? And which channel would be chosen?"
TOEI: "We definitely want this show to be available in France, and our teams are already working on that right now since it's pretty big news. Discussions with various channels to air it on TV are just getting started."
DB-Z.COM: "Do you have any info to share on the story? Even just some tiny little tidbit?"
TOEI: "All that we know is that the story happens after the Majin Boo saga in Dragon Ball Z. You'll likely meet the original characters again, along with perhaps new characters... We'll tell you more as soon as we get more info!"
So, I've been thinking, this is good for FUNi! They'll probably announced it around May or June, since they announced RoF before it was released. Then, we get a simulcast with subs, and we'll have a dub in less than a year. I mean, this is good! Hopefully we hear more news soon!

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

After the Majin Buu saga, so not after Uub's introduction?
Some people also say it's been stated to be a sequel to DBZ, but is that another one of those tidbits only stated in japanese material?
If they want to call it a sequel to DBZ, I'd expect to take place after Uub's introduction like GT, not in between the Buu Arc and Uub.

Arlong Park. I was most active back in 2009 during all of the One Piece Simulcast drama, and I remember you very well.
My username isn't one that's very unique and identifiable as it's probably very popular, but I have the same one there that I do here.

Some have even mentioned the possibility of a simuldub? Although I don't know much about those and wasn't really aware they were real until today, Dragon Ball does seem like the kind of series they would really push to do that.
Still in a daze and super stoked about this new chapter in the franchise, but they REALLY need to keep this one short and allot enough time and investment for everyone on board to develop it into a good series. This is in regards to most popular shounen anime ruined by negligent studios.
Sorry to be a party pooper, but making a halfassed series with a shitton of fanservice or whatever poured over it to compensate/distract is really going to turn everything into a run-of-the-mill train wreck and not even worth getting hyped up about.

One could argue they didn't simulcast Kai because to them, the dub was the main attraction, and the sub for Z was already easily available (I'd rather watch Z subbed and Kai dubbed myself).
I can't believe FUNi won't try their damnedest to get a Simulcast of this. Hell, they could possibly Simuldub it like they've started doing with other recent anime, though I don't know how that will effect the dub quality...
Either way, I'm extremely hyped for this. I wonder if we'll get Resurrection 'F' in America before this starts...
