I have accepted that the humans will be useless in this new series and not fight much, but that doesn't mean Piccolo has to have the same fate. I want a massive power up to Piccolo to put him on par with Goku and Vegeta so he can help them in the fights. This is probably asking for to much though.

If you want it for Piccolo, I want it for Krillin. He needs those power ups.
I ask thou, WHY MUST IT BE ME?
Your weakness is your strength.
Are you reading this? If you are, I just want to let you know that I'm a GREAT GUY.

I don't even care if he's not up to par with Goku and Vegeta, because that's likely not going to happen, but I just want him to improve to the point that he's no longer useless still to even late DBZ standards. There should be no reason why he's still arguably weaker than a Cell Jr. for fuck's sake.

It definitely needs to take place after ROF considering the buu and freeza announcement was made. The freeza they have to be referring to is GF since its obvious that if they mentioned buu first, we would automatically know that the enemy is stronger than freeza (From namek). They mentioned freeza second, so it's current freeza. Also, doing an anime set before BOG'S and ROF would put him in a plot where he can do absolutely nothing entertaining. The enemy would have to be stronger than Buuhan at the least, so what are they going to do, fusion all over again? lol He also can't make another transformation since in BOG's goku's strongest form was still SSJ3 and vegeta still had MSSJ and SSJ2. Unless he does a canon Super gogeta and have gogeta fight on par with the new enemy. Doing the anime at a time after ROF sets much new characters, gods and other universes into play which would be entertaining. And i highly doubt toriyama wants to focus back on SSJ2 and SSJ3's again.

Now that Trunks is supposed to be teen, it is about time they explain where the heck his sword come from.

Not to mention Kuririn, Tenshinhan and maybe Yamcha learning Kaio-Ken. And then... We (indeed) explore the Namekuseijin race with all the due backstory and such, for finally Piccolo ascends to a God-like realm as well.

Present Trunks is never implied to have a sword outside of Movie 13, GT and DBO. None of these likely have any bearing on Dragon Ball Super's continuity, so there is nothing to explain.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.
My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)

The revival of Dragon Ball as a SERIES after 18 years might be the most shocking thing I have ever seen in my life. Never in a MILLION years would I have expected this to EVER happen. I guess Battle of Gods and Revival of F relit Toriyama's passion for the series. This has to be the biggest news for Dragon Ball since the anime series ended with GT.

I also don't think Present Trunks has a sword in the main canon timeline. Wrath of the Dragon fits in the main canon timeline with pretty much no issues though. If the sword is never seen that Tapion gave him, or the events of Wrath of the Dragon are never referenced, then Wrath of the Dragon didn't happen in the main canon timeline and Present Trunks doesn't have the sword.

Probably helps that he doesn't have to draw it every week or do any of the heavy lifting anymore, just has to lay out plot details and shit.

If indeed the series is set right after ROF, I could totally buy Piccolo getting God powers somehow. He's technically the one with more experience in the matter anyway. I would be more than happy to see him getting closer to the level of Goku and Vegeta. Gohan has other things in mind.

I also believe Tenshinhan has earned the right to learn Kaioken. He's been training almost non-stop all this time. Sadly, I don't see Goku teaching that to him. The only other way would be to go to Kaio's.

Goten and Trunks need to show up as teens. No question about it.

We need a good editor or things are going to get WILD.
Check out Journey's End, a short story of Goku and Vegeta's final days. "Time is running out for the last two Saiyans"

I don't expect much from Tenshinhan with this new series. The fact that he stays apart from everyone else means we will see him less often than everyone else anyway. I just want Tenshinhan to show up every once in a while, do something cool, then go back to training.

Sorry if I look like I'm being lazy, but this thread grew a lot since last time I was online: any news?

Why would Toriyama need an editor? This isn't like a Toriyama is doing a weekly manga series again.

There are definitely no official news, but this forum is bursting with predictions and theories, so at least there's something to think and discuss about.

By they way, you reminded me. That Sailor Moon Crystal is broadcasted on TV now, so it doesn't have any excuses anymore.

From what I've always known Toriyama left it up to Toei, it was there project. He might've known what was going on but that was about it from what I've read.
Didn't he approve script for each episode though?

Goku could blink, and all of them would have died. The same for Gohan. And sometimes people act as no one besides Goku or Vegeta fought anyone in GT, but it is simply not true.

I think Akira Toriyama was bored of DB, so he just told TOEI at one point: "Fuck this, I'm out, do whatever you want"
Now he's back and wants to truly continue its serie and finally give a good ending to it.

They already did. In the movie 13. And Toriyama simply doesn't care much about it anyway.

This won't happen.

Yeah. Seeing how he was completely beat after finishing the manga, he was most likely gotten really fed up with the series, and didn't want to contribute to GT so much. Even in those little pictures included in the translations Toriyama says stuff like "FINALLY! I got rid of Dragon Ball!"

No. It didn't happen in manga, because it isn't in manga. Anything in anime is anime-only, as not only Toriyama doesn't know about it, even if he knows (presumably Bardock: Father of Goku), he simply doesn't care.

Tenshinhan is not important at this point. He won't get any power ups.

Or more like Toei wants to make more money. They are never satisfied, they need to make as many remakes/anime-only sequels as possible =/
