If Toriyama decided to give power ups to Piccolo again to make him useful in fights, most people would accept it just like they did before.
We accepted the power ups because they were reasonable, Fusing with Nail to gain a mild boost after training with King Kai? Makes sense but was then made slightly useless by the introduction of Freeza 3rd form and everything beyond that. Reuniting with Kami to become the super namek once more? Again made sense, they built up that the fused form of Piccolo and Kami was actually a rather powerful warrior in the past, add the power from fusing with Nail and you have someone on par with 17 & 18 but he was then overshadowed by 16 and semi perfect Cell. But we're now talking about taking someone jumping up to GOD TIER literal god tier too. That's a much bigger leap then 2nd form Freeza to the android twins.
I want Piccolo to be relevant again, I want all of the old guard to be relevant again cause at this point Goku and Vegeta have become boring. It's great that they're this strong but it's at the cost of making everyone else look terrible. So yeah I'd be fine with a great big out of no where asspull deus ex power up to make the humans and Piccolo relevant in fights again! Cause they're cool too!
Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

It's not the thought of Piccolo getting a power up that bugs me, it's the bias thinking that it's perfectly logical and fine for him to catch up to Goku but it's apparently impossible for the humans too when they're at best a couple steps down from Piccolo who is a couple steps down from Trunks and Goten. Again, any power up that would be unbelievable for the humans would also be unbelievable for the Namekian. Hence why I don't care if we get an unbelievable thing that boosts the old guard back up to relevant fighting status!
Couple of steps? Piccolo's power level is arguably in the low billions, we don't even have confirmation that the humans even reached a million.

And yet you believe Piccolo is perfectly capable of closing that gap with a power up? Again, he isn't the exception to the rule, he is merely a step or two above the humans. Any power up that would be unbelievable for the humans would also be unbelievable for Piccolo as well. We're more likely to see SSJG Gotenks then a Piccolo who can stand even with Goku again. The saiyans got out of control power ups that made the power gap way to big and almost impossible to bridge without a deus ex power up. This is again why I believe we're gonna get new characters to fill the fight roaster while the old guard is retired to moral support. Which I'd be ok with but it would still hurt a little to see that happen to them.
This will kill it for me. Please don't do this AT.
This already happened. Pretty much only Beerus, Goku and Vegeta matter now.

Thank you. Exactly my point. Piccolo is indeed on another level compared to the humans, not just one or two steps ahead of them. Yamucha is retired at this point, there's no point in even mentioning him anymore. Kuririn probably does very little training at this point, probably just enough to stay where he was at during the Cell Games. Tenshinhan, who knows. He trains constantly and is always getting stronger but we have no way at this point to even measure how strong he has become between Age 774-Age 784.

That... actually sounds like a bizarrely awesome concept. I'd love to see that happen.

That would be amazing. This announcement is simply opening up a great thing, not that I expect what you said to happen but I just like the endless possibilities we are open to right now.

yeah I'm going with this. I like this idea. Tenshinhan has to much pride as a human to do something like this. I could see Kuririn possibly think about it though.

I don't want the show to become a case of Bloodless Carnage like other shonen anime like Fairy Tail and Toriko. I think blood should only really be used for when the scenario gets really dramatic.

Fairy Tail? It's even less violent than current Dragon Ball.
I'm hoping the series returns back to the level of violence it had during the manga; obviously it's not going to be a big deal if it doesn't, but it kinda gets annoying when you have epic, big scene fights and all the characters are left with is some bruises and a bit of blood on their clothes and mouth.

I don't think we'll be that lucky in regards to how violent the show may get. I'm not fairly confident we'll get outright gore like the original series or manga had, but there will be blood. So... that's something.

Yeah, levels of violence. I can't wait for some guts blown out and innards lying on rocks in a kid series.
I just can't have an epic fight without flying teeth and mothers crying over their dead children.
There is no Dragon Ball without that.
