"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

The humans will not be fighting much if at all in this new series. Yamucha is retired, and I believe Kuririn only trains so he doesn't get weaker. Tenshinhan still trains but the power gap between him and these new villains coming will be to big for him to even consider getting involved. I don't even want to see the human fighters fight at this point. Just show them living out their lives and let us see what they are up to every once in a while. Only chance for old characters becoming relevant in fights again is Piccolo (big maybe and only with a godly power up), and Majin Boo who I don't think anyone should dismiss as being fodder.

They live on Earth though, i think it would be pretty boring if we had no really strong fighters from Earth.

I'd very much like to see the humans fighting in this series, even if it's against grunts or the like.

Even those kinds of battles can make a character who's otherwise weak seem badass when done right, even when contrasted with a fight between two much stronger entities.

Or heck, find a way for them to get stronger too. I'd be all for it.

I always saw that statement as: ''man, maybe you reached the peak in the universe by being on par with one of the strongest being here, but this universe is one of many, so...''
Oh yeah, what am I babling, sure, bring us something from different realm.

It's a pitty tough, the Universe must be vast for adventures. That part of DBZ where Buu teleports to different planets, destroying them and the venture in GT had me intrigued what many worlds and planets are in DB Universe.

What i wish for the new series (and I dream high):

- Takes place after EOZ and it's about the 12 universes and Gods.
- Gods must be interesting characters and have unique powers, like Whis time travel.
- Pan gets Mansenko and SSJ. Uub gets kaioken, instant transmission and kinton. Both get kamehameha.
- Piccolo gets on pair with Goku and Vegeta, thanks to a God related to the Namekian race. Gohan back to the game would be cool too.
- No more new colors for SSJ.
- Beerus and Whis.
- Others characters being relevant besides Goku and Vegeta. Even though some are already old/retired, they can have some screentime and cool scenes.
- Great animation.
- Great soudtracks. Some Kikuchi re-orchestrated soundtracks.
- Kageyama to come back and sing the opening.
- No censorship.

I think that's it. Oh God, I love dreams.

Knowing him, Pan will have SSJ3 at 12 years old.... I hope this doesn't happen.

Well, they could invent a plot so that Trunks and Goten are forced to go back to training and fighting. Also, Gohan was fighting since he was 4, so I don't see a problem with Pan and even less with Uub, who is like 10 or something. And like I said, I'm up for new characters anyway. Make Whis train Trunks, Goten, Uub, Pan, Bra and whoever else wants to tag along. It's doable, but I don't think it will happen.

I Agree with you, this is the reason why I'm not so fond of the idea of the characters exploring the other Universes...
It wouldnt be fun if they just travel to other universes to find strong people...(there must be something different and interesting in the other universes that isn't just strong people)
if they're going to travel there must be a very good reason for it ...

What degree of violence can we expect here? I don't want Dragon Ball to go Berserk, but all rainbows wouldn't be good either.

Nothing stupid, DB had it's share of violence too.

I really wish it would be like a slice of series where it's the just the guys and Beerus and Whis goofing off and having fun. That would piss off so many people

I would like this, Actually I would like the series to have different stories of one or two chapters focused on one, two or a group of characters

Like Vegeta picking up mushrooms in the forest and gets attacked by ocelot possesed by Tsufurujin.
Goku goes to grocery store instructed by Chi-Chi and brings some useless stuff.

Cooking show with Whis and Beers (that's like me, I do cook as well with after whiskey and beer).

I honestly love the idea of using an adult Gotenks fusion as seen in Dragonball Heroes. Unfortunately, they'd still fall way short of God-level.

I will say this though...anything we see from "超” or "Super" is going to be completely unexpected.

I'm excited to see Dragonball episodes that are brand-spanking new. DBGT stopped airing in Japan way before DBZ ever did in the states. I have a feeling this new series is going to be a huge hit. HUGE.
