"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread

I'm so excited for the new series and I can't wait to see how it will play out.

I'd like to see the following things happening in Dragonball Super:

- Pan and maybe Bra/Bula being useful fighters and being able to at least turn Super Saiyan (As female Super Saiyans are a thing in Xenoverse)
- The background stories of Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, Chaotzu and Roshi being expanded upon to not only make them more relevant to the story but also giving clues from their past to help Goku take down the main villains.
- Future Trunks visiting but getting scolded by Jaco (if he's in the series) for time traveling
- Turning out that Gine (and maybe Bardock as well) managed to escape planet Vegeta's destruction and them joining the Z-fighters.
- More shenanigans from Pilaf and his gang.
- Revealing who ChiChi's mother was and what happened to her.
- Gotenks appearing in the series as well when this is relevant.

Kind of difficult to find a good explanation of why Gine didn't go to Earth before if she is alive all this time, but who knows? Hope she is indeed alive, one way or other, she needs to appear more.

As for Bardock, it would be cool to see him around, of course. But... Well, don't know what to think of it, he just needs character development as well, and I'm sure Toriyama can do it in many different ways. And by the way, I don't know if you already know, Bardock kind of already joined the Z-fighters as an ally in Dragon Ball Online.

Turning out that Gine (and maybe Bardock as well) managed to escape planet Vegeta's destruction and them joining the Z-fighters..

In the manga we see Bardock get killed by Freeza so unless they bring him back to life or Toriyama decides EOB is canon then we won't see him.

And he said in an interview that he probably won't use him unless the story is set in the past.

I really like EoZ Pan and Bra, but I feel the odds of them and older teen Trunks and Goten are slim because Toriyama last I heard doesn't want to do anything with that era because everyone else is old.

Yes... I was just thinking that! Many times in the past, Piccolo has received some kind of major upgrade. It would be awesome to see him get another one and be able to keep up with gods!

Most of the intial character designs in GT were done by Toriyama. The ultra hated for no reason Mustache Vegeta? Toriyama designed that. Probably a lot of things done in GT, Toriyama had to approve, He has stated he enjoyed the series and enjoyed many of the things some fans complain about when it comes to GT. Sit and think on that. GT isn't 'from another universe' it's just an alternate timeline, like Future Trunk's time. It's all within the same universe and continuity, just different timelines. So please, for the sake of others who just want to enjoy new dragon ball, stow your hate away and just enjoy this for what it is. New Dragon Ball. New Dragon Ball that we actually know very little about, we don't even know if Toriyama is writing the entire thing...all we know is he has plotted Super.

Please, don't try to convince me with fake facts, Toriyama just supervised GT and did some character designs, I would like you to give me a link where proofs that he was the responsible for the "Ultra Hated Mustache Vegeta".

If he enjoyed this series much as he did with Bardock he wouldn't say that we can consider GT as a side-story. What is a side-story for you? For me is a alternate story that we could see as "What If" that pretty much sums what GT in fact is for Toriyama.

Anyway, I hope this new Dragon Ball Super ditches GT for good and become the real canon sequel to the story after EoZ! I'll pray for that.

The only reason Piccolo stopped getting stronger was because Toriyama stopped giving power ups to Piccolo. Everyone accepted the power ups that Toriyama gave Piccolo throughout DBZ. If Toriyama decided to give power ups to Piccolo again to make him useful in fights, most people would accept it just like they did before. I also never said that I ever expected Piccolo to catch up with Goku/Vegeta, because he never will. I think the potential is there though at the moment to give him some power ups throughout this new series to put him on par with them though. If Piccolo can be stronger than a Super Saiyan, then I don't see why he can't be as strong as a Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, or even beyond that. Piccolo is also Toriyama's favorite character as well, so he has that going for him.

I could swallow that Piccolo sync with Nail give him a huge power boost because Nail was the strongest namekian warrior at time, but I couldn't swallow that Piccolo sync with Kami that is inferior to Raditz BP could surpass the SSJs and the androids 17, 18, really.

I could swallow that Piccolo sync with Nail give him a huge power boost because Nail was the strongest namekian warrior at time, but I couldn't swallow that Piccolo sync with Kami that is inferior to Raditz BP could surpass the SSJs and the androids 17, 18, really.

I think it had less to do with Kami being powerful, and more Piccolo being an incomplete person.

What i wish for the new series (and I dream high):

- Takes place after EOZ and it's about the 12 universes and Gods.
- Gods must be interesting characters and have unique powers, like Whis time travel.
- Pan gets Mansenko and SSJ. Uub gets kaioken, instant transmission and kinton. Both get kamehameha.
- Piccolo gets on pair with Goku and Vegeta, thanks to a God related to the Namekian race. Gohan back to the game would be cool too.
- No more new colors for SSJ.
- Beerus and Whis.
- Others characters being relevant besides Goku and Vegeta. Even though some are already old/retired, they can have some screentime and cool scenes.
- Great animation.
- Great soudtracks. Some Kikuchi re-orchestrated soundtracks.
- Kageyama to come back and sing the opening.
- No censorship.

I think that's it. Oh God, I love dreams.

I would be more hyped if this was in 2012 before all this movies and set after EoZ

We could see Teen Goten and Trunks in action, Uub, Pan... Gohan still would be "Mystic" and Gold SSJ still would be a thing, no Godly bullsh*t
