I dunno why some people are so against the possibility of a series starring the younger generation.

Because the current young generation sucks ass and I have absolutely 0 interest in seeing Pan or Bra or Marron or Uub or whoever take over significant roles over better characters.

If you don't let them grow and establish themselves, then how can you know?

I'm sure most people probably had close to zero interest back when Goku was introduced, back when Gohan was introduced and then grew to love those two characters.

Please, don't try to convince me with fake facts, Toriyama just supervised GT and did some character designs, I would like you to give me a link where proofs that he was the responsible for the "Ultra Hated Mustache Vegeta".

If he enjoyed this series much as he did with Bardock he wouldn't say that we can consider GT as a side-story. What is a side-story for you? For me is a alternate story that we could see as "What If" that pretty much sums what GT in fact is for Toriyama.

Anyway, I hope this new Dragon Ball Super ditches GT for good and become the real canon sequel to the story after EoZ! I'll pray for that.

The thing about weird concepts like "mustache Vegeta" is that, although initially they seem odd they are the sorts of things that make DB/DBZ interesting if in the right hands. Toriyama takes odd ideas and unexpected turns and uses those things to affect the characters for interesting interactions. I actually thought the mustache was one of the funniest things about GT. It's light-hearted fun with the characters. Giving the characters something to play with. TOEI didn't know how to fully utilize all the ideas and once they stopped coming from Toriyama (which seems was right after the start) they didn't know what to do with it.

Toriyama would have taken the entire concept in a different direction. It seems other then throwing a few ideas at them though and giving them character designs (and a logo design), he didn't actually do anything else or come up with the story... he just approved of the story (or the premise of it at least) when they showed it to him. I doubt he had any interaction past the concept that it would be them hunting dragon balls in space with a tiny Goku. Imagine if Toriyama had written those episodes though? The planets they visit would have probably been more fun and interesting ala the crazy characters and places Goku runs into during the original DB.

THIS time he will be involved in the story itself! I'm sure he'll do character designs too! I don't think he'll be as involved in every little part of it like with ROF, but something between Yo! Son Goku and Battle of Gods. Both of which turned out great and felt very Toriyama! So I have a lot of confidence this will be a potentially great series.

Ultimately I think a lot of it has to do with what you're looking for in this franchise. The F thread shows how varied we ask are in terms of that. I have had situations where the characters I've wanted to see don't reach main status. DB isn't one of those cases for me. Gokû and Vegeta are my favorites, fun stuff with them is what I want to see. The VegeBul stuff from BOG--loved it, wanna see more of that too. It feels weird to be satisfied with where we are, but I am. I honestly thought if we'd ever get a new series it'd be a Heroes one that I wouldn't watch because I don't care about that. Instead I get Gokû's name right in the mini summary they provided. I dunno. I'm happy.

It would be fun if Pan becomes one of the main characters, sadly it seems impossible..... I just hope they dont shrink anyone anymore, and hopefully more Goten!

The Story will pick up after The Z fighters battle with Majin Buu, its gonna count the newest 2 movies.
And Akira Toriyama Stated that there will be new villains stronger than Majin buu and Frieza.(Golden form)

Agreed. We have next to nothing with Oob, and there's nothing to tell us that Toriyama's Pan would be anything like GT's Pan (though personally I never had a problem with GT Pan), so there's really no reason to dislike these characters on principle. For all we know, what Toriyama envisions for them, could turn out to be some of his best characters yet. The same holds true for Bra and Marron. Jaco alone proves that when it comes to making characters interesting, he's still got it.

I'd take that Facebook news with a grain of salt. Especially since 26 doesn't really seem to be the standard number for a normal length series anymore. It used to be your shorter titles were either 13 or 26 episodes, but nowadays they tend to be either 12 or 24.

That and I'm honestly still betting it'll be at least a year runner. The only way I could see it being much shorter than that is if Super is just a spotholder until Digimon Adventure Tri is ready to go, but I have a hard time imagining DB being a placehol -

I haven't seen ROF yet, but it looks good to me! From what I know about it, it sounds like the concept of Goku/Vegeta learning to work together and become the strongest "together" is a really great way to start off the series. In all of DBZ, all we got was Vegeta wanting to be better then Goku... then he admitted at the end that Goku was the best. But with Yo! Son Goku we started to see a friendly rivalry... in BOG we saw hidden potential in Vegeta that could put him up there with Goku and in ROF it seems he has about reached similar power with Goku (maybe not as strong?).

But here! We may get to see them finally work TOGETHER! Vegeta may get his moment to be a true hero in the series, that'd be cool. Who knows what is next though!? That's what is so great. The series will allow for more time to really explore the new characters and worlds in a way the movies could not. ROF if spread out as an arc of an anime probably could have been much better and more interesting. It would have lessened how "ridiculous" Freeza's ability to train for 4 months and get that strong seems because it would have been spread over many episodes and the time would have felt much longer week to week to week from the viewer's perspective. It's exciting to think, but when an episode ends... we won't know what's coming next, but there will be more... and more... and more!

The new Dragon Ball anime after 18 years and loved worlwide being just a placeholder for Digimon Tri, doesn't make any sense.
Sure, I thought Tri or Toriko would replace Kai, but Kai is not new content. That would be really sad.
