But they wouldn't have been able to cut out the filler the way Toie did which is the best thing that happened before we got BOG.

Hoping that maybe next week's Weekly Jump will have something.


Re: First images when?

For comparison; Go!Pri's first images showed up December 11th and the show premiered February 1st. (Used my tumblr archive as a source).
If at the earliest we start the 5th of July, that'd put the first image leaks in early-mid May.
Be on the lookout for early-release tie-in merch? That's where Go!Pri's leaks were taken off of.

I'm guessing we'll get our first look in the next V-Jump, which will be around May 20th, right?
Also kinda unrelated, but there is a pretty good chance they'll announce the next console game this May, it'll be interesting to see if it is branded as a Dragon Ball Super game.

Why'd they annouce it already when Xenoverse just came out?

Because that's what they do? They announced Xenoverse in May of last year, just a few months after Battle of Z came out. Announce in May and show it off in motion at E3 in June.

The whole toy sales thing is what worries me about an English dub.

Ideally, we'd get a good dub that's 100% the same as the Jap version. No major changes, no bowdlerization or unnecessary censorship or any of that crap, and air it on Toonami at like 8 or something. It would probably get good ratings there too, get a good mix of kids and teens and the 18-24 nostalgia crowd. What I'm afraid of though, is that they'll ignore every demographic except kids, and put a censored and bowdlerized dub on Nicktoons or 4kids or CN at 4 or something that's main goal is to push toys, and not give the rest of the fanbase an actual proper dub.

I think they're going to stick with Dragon Ball only cause at this point we have 4 series so there's no reason to name it after one over the other especially if it has content from all of them.

What I'm more interested in seeing is weather it's Xenoverse 2 or another game from Artdink or another studio.

This is 2015 Funimation we're talking about here. There is literally 0% risk of this happening.

Don't worry,when Kai was on nicktoons it had it's own censored dub while the home release had it's uncut release.

Anime in the west isn't popular with kids (thank god) and Funi knows this so they're not going to compromise their business by doing something like that.

No, I find it shocking that he'll be given all the time that the other characters deserve when nothing like the sort ever happened in the manga.

Then you should never have responded to me in the first place because I never said anything about "all the time". I'm just referring to the main spotlight - as in, whoever gets to participate and shine in a big climactic battle with the main foe.

It's not the same as having something official.

You could say the same about this,fans for years have been making up new stories so going by what you said there's no need for Toriyama or the studio to give us anything new.

But who cares if it is official or not, it is a pretty well-paced version of One Piece without fillers, the same way as Kai is a pretty well-paced version of DBZ without fillers. Cutting fillers and releasing something old as something new isn't exactly the same as making something completely new.

Btw not sure if it worths mentioning, but after recent release of Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold, Toei also announced the game, based on it, which is called "Saint Seiya: Soldiers' Soul". Besides Gold Saints appearing with their new God Cloths from Soul of Gold TV series, the main characters from original Saint Seiya tv series appear there as well. We may possibly see something like that with new Dragon Ball series too.

Kai was on Nick Toons because Adult Swim didn't want it. Since Kai is one of Toonami's highest rated shows then I think Super is going straight to Toonami. Super is probably going to be Toonami's highest rated and biggest shows in years once they get it.

It is such a long, complicated story, and way more off-topic than I even feel my precure-related ramblings were because I was at least using Toei's production of precure as a reference point in my theorizing on Super's production schedule, so...short version:

-originally I didn't ship either one
-then I shipped V/G
-before flipping to G/V
-then not caring which one was on what side of the slash mark
-later on flipping back to V/G
-before docking the ship and shipping G around with other characters for a while
-before retiring shipping altogether in favor of more comedic interactions
-and then dammit Fukkatsu no F and your baiting me because it totally works but I'm too semi-retired to do anything serious with it so we're in this weird floating-the-boat-in-the-lake-but-not-taking-it-out-to-sea, let's-play-but-not-fully-commit-to-anything sort of deal.
-Also BOG got me into VegeBul so I'm all "Aw I don't wanna break up VegeBul", but then Fukkatsu no F's like "we'll grey-area this 'maybe V and G now have semi-eternal youth thing."' so I'm all "ok so case of decades from now when they are widowered yet still semi-eternally-youthful gods-of-sorts they find comfort in each other or something'." kinda thing.

Even the short version is long. >_<

So currently, I'm in the comedic, light-hearted "awkward Vegeta moments" way instead of anything seriously in-depth.

There's this one character theme he does for Gokû from the Movie 8 soundtrack (titled something like "Son Gokû arrives" I think?) that absolutely captures the characterization for me.

I wonder how much cheaper/more expensive using or rescoring Kikuchi music would be compared to getting someone to produce new music. I am not knowledgable on the logistics of that.

Also, I never thought about how Blueper Saiyan almost-defeats GT; that's kinda cool.
I'm not one to care about "canon"; I pick and choose whatever I want to count on any particular day. :3

I'd like a long contiuous story with the occasional filler episode here and there.

YES to "Piccolo babysits Pan for a day" episode.

I want more Beerus and Whis so I'm hoping we pick up where F leaves off, but I'll be alright if it picks up immediately after Buu, or after the end of the manga. End of the manga means we get to see child!Pan, older-teen Trunks and Goten, and Vegeta interacting with child!Bra; all of which I also want to see.

Actually, if we're unable to get Kaio back as the narrator, have Beerus narrate the story. :3

I'd like everyone to keep their F outfits (so much love for Gokû's new dougi and for Vegeta's reminds-me-of-a-gakuran-with-armor-over-top) but if we get new new ones, that's ok too.

Yes to Gokû, Vegeta, Beerus, and Whis grand touring through the other universes.

I'm still excited; the scared part hasn't kicked in it because I'm still riding the high from BOG and partly from F. I'm so happy I was wrong about "oh it'll be a DBH series". TuT Imagination-tears of joy when I saw Gokû's name in that summary instead of Beat's.

Kikuchi music was part of what made the 2008 special such a joy to watch.

I wonder if they still have the rights to that music. I hope they do.
