So how about a DB MOBA game? For those of you who don't know what a MOBA is it stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena which plays out like an RTS in which you control the characters, and with the recent hype over League of Legends, Dota 2, Infinite Crisis etc. it got me thinking how DB would fare as a MOBA game.
To be honest I could see it working, the Z fighters on one side and the Villains on the other, the minions could be Capsule Corp androids for the good team and Freeza's soldiers/Androids/Red Ribbon Army for the other team. The main game mode could be a race to get the Dragon Balls which are scattered over the map and can be claimed and re-claimed by either team.
What do you guys think of a game like this?

Sounds like a good idea! I would certainly play it.

I don't think we will ever see an official one but I love the idea of it. I had a lot of fun with a lot of the DBZ custom games in Warcraft III which were similar.
Re: Dragon Ball MOBA game idea
(sorry for bumping an old thread)
I have something to support your idea, which are races with allying possibilities, instead of using the manga heroes and sagas. I have a total of 6 pure races that transform into another 6 on the 2nd tier, and the final 6 on the 3rd tier. They are: Saiyans; Humans; Frost Demons; Namekians; Majins; Tuffles. Some of these are able to transform by just leveling up, but others will have to ally with another in order to share researches (for example, Saiyans can only breed Half-saiyans by allying Humans. Frost Demons can only transform into Bio-Androids by allying Namekians for their regeneration DNA. Kaioshins can only turn into Demons Gods by allying Demons and potara fusing with them. Etc.)
What this would create is a dynamic leveling and stat sharing system where you're never supporting or being supported by the same races. You change sides as you transform until you reach the final form. Here is a scheme that I made to apply this idea with Dragon Ball lore (some liberties had to be taken):

Tell me what you think, and I'll gladly help develop it through any customizable game (WCIII:TFT, for example).

Re: Dragon Ball MOBA game idea
Hey, thanks for sharing, I can see you've thought about this way more than I have. I really like your ideas and they'd make every match unique, if i had any clue on how to develop a mod for WCIII I would try it out! Unfortunately I don't have the skills or the time to figure it out, you might have better luck in their own modding forums.

Don't worry, any comment on the concept is welcome even without help in development. For now I'd just like people to comment on the idea's consistency with Dragonball lore, but I'll warn you that it's very hard to mix and match other races, and that this is the result of extensive conceptual work
