DBZ...it will never die. Pokemon 2.0 confirmed! I am looking forward to this series though. Do we know who's doing the animation? I'm not expecting Madhouse but I hope they make it look better than the previous series.

Animation Production is credited to Toei Animation, as usual.

Yes and no. The storyboarding will likely be better but I doubt there will be as many sheets used in a regular episode's fight scene unless the key animator is good. The timing in this opening is hideous, so with anything at least that will be improved in episodes of Dragon Ball Super.

Twice. Once during school and once after, on the same day. It was the usually "Oh Really?!" response people give and that was pretty much it. The funny thing is I found out about it early in the morning the day it was announced so these guys must be big fans as well if they knew about it too. I told a few of my friends that I know are fans and one of them freaked out and the other gave the "Oh God" as in he's worried they're going to ruin everything. I'm definitely in the fangasm wagon as of now for sure lol.

Unfortunately no :(

It boggles my mind how some people can prefer the Japanese music over his.

Namek Destruction
Kid Buu theme
Perfect Cell theme
SSJ3 theme
Ginyu transformation
The Dragon theme
Gohan Angers
Goku's Spirit Bomb
Goku's SSJ Transformation

How is the Japanese music better than those?
I watched both dubs and although a lot of fans do love the Japanese dub , I'll always get that nostalgic feeling when hearing any of Falconers tracks just because it's what I grew up on . To me it just sounded more badass.
Especially Piccolos theme that plays when Gohan is in the Kamehameha struggle with cell , epic badassery or when Vegeta fires a blast and his SS theme comes on then it transitions into that dramatic piece when Cell is being obliterated .

I'm wondering what the music will be like in the dub for DragonBall Super though

It will be the same as whatever Toei uses, which will most likely be Sumitomo. Funimation hasn't replaced any music since the dubs of The World's Strongest and Tree of Might in late 2006.

In terms of music, I tend to go on more of a selective, "individual track" kind of basis.

The dub soundtrack does in my opinion have some great pieces, like SSJ3, Gohan Angers, SSJ Goku, Vegeta's theme and the Cell and Buu themes.

But I also really like a lot of the tracks, especially insert songs which I'm always a sucker for, from the Japanese--Unmei no Hi, Mezase Tenkaichi, both the Red Ribbon Army pieces, the instrumental/orchestral main DB theme, and the movie 13 main theme are stand-outs for me.

And come to it, Kai too--I'm a big fan of the Goku, Vegeta and Frieza character songs in Kai, plus all its openings and endings. Mainly the Japanese versions of the openings and endings over the dubbed covers, which can be slightly off. (But speaking of comparing the same song in different languages, surprisingly enough the English version of I'll Give You Romance from all the way back in DB is much better than the Japanese one.)

Oh, and finally, both the Flow songs from BoG. I dunno. Those really worked in my opinion.

I hope we hear the return of Makafushigi Adventure.

And yes, people at my universiy knew it even before I told them. I did not expect that. On the other hand it is Dragon Ball, so I kinda still did.

This is the opening to Revival of 'F' that's been edited to include 'Super' in the title.

Whoever uploaded this stole it from here - https://twitter.com/drmurow/status/593884690186141696

The news made national newspapers and was plastered on every portal where you normally never see any anime stuff, let alone DB. Not surprising, it's one of the biggest 90s worldwide properties.

In terms of the animation style, do you guys think it'll be more like the old style (original anime, M1-13) or the new one? (Kai opening/ending, BoG, RF)

IMO, new style, no doubt.

99.9% new one. The new one is quite good, I liked RoF's fast fights.

Well, the timing is mostly off, because the animation works better with the original song and that is Fight It Out ;)

So, I've been giving all this some thought. One of the most exciting things about this is that 'Z' isn't in the title. As much as I adore DBZ, it would be kind of a letdown if this was just like the movies, but in series form (time line-wise; my suspension of disbelief of this gap between Buu and Uub only stretches so far). Essentially, I'd love to see Super be what Freeza era DBZ was to Dragon Ball--a refreshed art-style and tone, while still being very Dragon Ball. It would be great to see the animation reflect Toriyama's current drawing style, much like DBZ did in the Freeza arc. It seems like everything has been pretty much locked into his early 90's style, including GT. Also, I need this to be post Uub--basically at least where GT went, but within the Toriyamaverse. Redeem Pan by actually making her cool, redeem Goten so that at least one of Goku's kids is worth something rather than being Gohan 2, completely retcon GT from any possible legitimacy, etc. It's a win-win.
I was Thanos before the MCU existed!

In the likely event that Yamamuro is still handling the character designs, the show will not deviate far from the aesthetic shown in the two recent films.

I'm quite content with that outcome. I may not love every element of Yamamuro's designs (in particular, the rounded noses in 3/4 view shots), but they're still pretty nice.
It'll depend on the animators involved, too. Much like the movies, episodes and cuts are bound to vary from animator to animator. You only have to look at Battle of Gods to see ups and downs in the overall quality of the animation.

Not that you were implying anything to the contrary, but I think it's something that's worth pointing out; the original show wasn't all that pretty on the whole. When a majority of episodes are being handled by Studio Live and Last House, you're not exactly getting top quality.

I think many people remember the animation highlights of the series, rather than what the overall quality was.

There's a focus on this:
But little mention that a huge number of episodes looked like this:
At the very least, Super is almost guaranteed to be far more consistent than anything we've seen from the franchise previously. That doesn't mean its best moments will surpass what we've had in the past, but we should be spared of general ugliness. At worst, we may see the awkwardness of the Boo Kai intros.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how things play out!

In terms of animation, I think that we will get sth like the Toriko x One Piece x DragonBall Z Crossover animation.
