Just FYI, this week's Kai had some scrolling text mentioning Super. But from what I saw, it didn't say anything new. Just the simple details we already know (premiering in July, first new series in 18 years, etc).

Kai will probably air promos in the coming weeks, but I doubt it will be the place to debut any new information. Most likely talk shows or magazines will get the scoop on that.

And this little something should be said in first EOZ episode. But it's not gonna happen because EOZ was made 20 years ago and BOG/ROF didn't exist back then. Thus we hit the usual issues of prequels/interquels.

SSJ4 can't be retconned because it was never part of the Toriyama universe, it'd be like retconning something that never existed in the first place. GT will be ignored, just as it was in BoG and RF.

Yes, but don't talk like I was a big fan of GT, because I'm not lol

Anyway it won't be retconned because of the introductions of Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan in the last movies. So a Super Saiyan 4 would make no sense if we stop to think that Super Saiyan 3 was already tossed aside, so the next would be a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan 2 or whatever

So, Hujio's guessing that if there is no break between Kai and Super, we should be seeing our new series start on July 5th. As the first and final Buu Kai boxset will end on episode 159, and the TV schedules for most the networks have episode 159 scheduled to air on June 28th.

My big hope is that the head writer (series kousei) is Tomioka Atsuhiro. He recently wrote a script for One Piece and was head writer of a Tanken Driland at Toei Animation, so I'm hoping someone might have tried bringing him on. His work on Pocket Monster: Diamond & Pearl is without the doubt the best writing the franchise has seen. He would do well with writing good scripts for exciting Dragon Ball storylines.

I kind of hope they do crossovers with One Piece to celebrate the news series first, if only for the novelty factor.

This isn't 1999 anymore guys. FUNi has done an incredible job with Kai and BoG and I'm sure the dub of RF and Super will be really great too.Wanting dub fans just to wait because there's "hate for the Japanese" is ridiculous. There's plenty of hate for the English too. You're just being hypocritical and immature.

Super being dubbed quickly would be amazing for DB fans all around. Don't ruin it for everyone because they "deserve nothing." We're lucky enough that we're even getting a new series, the last thing we need is idiotic comments like that.
Very well said.

Personally, I hope FUNimation takes their time with the dub and doesn't try to get it out ASAP. A quality dub is far more preferable than something that may just be "good enough" to get on TV. So if it takes six months to get an awesome product out, it will have been worth the wait.
ZeroTheSuperSaiyan wrote:people should watch which ever version they want and enjoy it and not belittle others because they like watching it the other way
I couldn't agree more. We're all Dragon Ball fans regardless of which version we all choose to watch and there is not a single one of us are "better" fans than anyone else. It's a waste of energy to get so worked up that somebody else doesn't enjoy the version they do and who really cares if people prefer English, Spanish, Italian, etc. voices over the Japanese? It's their right to prefer and enjoy it just as much as subbies have the right to prefer and enjoy the original version.

Surely DBS takes place after Uub's introduction, otherwise they wouldn't be keeping Uub in DBK.

This is how I feel too, there would be no reason to keep the end of Z in the Japanese broadcast version of Kai if DBS wasn't taking place after it.

that's what I was thinking because if it took place before Goku met Oob/Uub the they would stop Kai after the defeat of Boo/Buu and the meeting of Oob/Uub would be the ending of Super, right?

Who's to say it doesn't start before Uub's introduction but progresses to a point after? Unless I've missed something, it isn't Kai's job to set up Super rather to provide a more manga accurate presentation of DBZ. Super probably wasn't even a concept when Kai was realized.

Let me put it this way. While Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager were all presented chronologically over the course of 14 years and affected one another, when Voyager ended in 2001 and Enterprise was set to premiere, they took it 100 years before the original Star Trek which, itself, was set nearly 100 years before TNG, DS9 and Voyager. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Super overlapping time periods in DBZ,

thing is they were all different crews on different missions in different places so they could overlap but DBS and DBZ will be the same people in the same place so both can't happen at once

the only way it would work is if they did one saga before meeting Uub, then one set say a year after meeting Uub like a time skip but they couldn't overlap unless it was with a new cast of characters
