There's no specific order I watch in anymore. I'll just pop in a disc at random and marathon from then on for a couple of hours

Re: How do you watch the series?
It depends really. Quite often I'll watch my Dragon Boxes, and now often I'll watch my blu-ray sets. Then I'll just stick some Kai on...it depends how I'm feeling I guess and it's always a pretty random thing. Always watch in English dub though.

while I still watch the series all the time, it's been about 8 years since I watched Z through from beginning to end.

Re: How do you watch the series?
Usually just in Japanese with Subtitles through the Dragon Boxes (which I am in the process of re-acquiring >.>) or other uncropped mediums. Occasionally, I'll turn the dub on to see how they handled certain parts or when I have non-purist fans over for a watch.
Re: How do you watch the series?
I'm currently checking in to Toonami every week to see Kai, but in general, I rarely watch the entire series at one time. It's just too long, and between work and school, I rarely have the time. Little snippets every now and then work. Usually through youtube.
The last time I actually spent watching an entire series was last year, with the Japanese version of Dragon Ball. Completely worth it, as I'd never watched the entire show, in any form, up to that point.

Spanish dvds with audio set to Japanese for Z, French dvds with audio set to Japanese for Kai.

Re: How do you watch the series?
Since I'm currently finishing up my degree in animation, and getting ready to enter the animation industry, I actually have little time to sit down and marathon shows like I used to.
My original re-watch of the franchise was from about 2007 to 2009, when I was able to collect it all on DVD and was the first time I saw many episodes in their original Japanese format.
But if I re-watch anything Dragon Ball nowadays, I usually watch either one of the movies (since they're nice and concise), or a small chunk of significant episodes from any of the three series (DB/DBZ/Kai/GT). I also check it the occasional episode of the Buu arc of Kai, but it's definitely not a priority. Probably will never re-watch the whole franchise in order ever again unless a significant other expresses interest.
I pretty much go with the Japanese version with subtitles, since I watched most of the dubbed stuff on Toonami back in the day and consider them largely flawed relics of the past. I have been impressed with the new movie's dub and Kai though.

Re: How do you watch the series?
For now I've been watching the DBZ series on the Dragonboxes, English funi dub. What I grew up on and wanted to finish the series that way. I switch to Japanese after watching some important fight scenes to hear the epic transformation screams lol. When I want to slow down on the series, I'll pop in Kai or the blu ray season sets I'm order as I finished watching them. Get the best of all three versions!
Re: How do you watch the series?
I have all the movies on blu-ray, and the original DB movies on DVD, but I have every episode and special on file on my PC, I watch them subbed.

So a question for the ones that say they watch the movies in the timeframe where they would take place: In your future binge watches will you watch BoG, RoF and the entirety of Dragon Ball Super in between the last few episodes with the time skip?

Re: How do you watch the series?
Good question, probably not. We don't know how long the series will last and there are only a handful of episodes that take place after the time skip.Deathbringer wrote:So a question for the ones that say they watch the movies in the timeframe where they would take place: In your future binge watches will you watch BoG, RoF and the entirety of Dragon Ball Super in between the last few episodes with the time skip?

Sure, but we don't know if Dragon Ball Super is before the time skip yet, do we?Deathbringer wrote:So a question for the ones that say they watch the movies in the timeframe where they would take place: In your future binge watches will you watch BoG, RoF and the entirety of Dragon Ball Super in between the last few episodes with the time skip?

Re: How do you watch the series?
I thought they said that it would be set after BoG. It will be interesting to see if the show eventually leaps forward in time to either around or even after the 25th tournament. Conceivably they could.One_Instance wrote:

Sure, but we don't know if Dragon Ball Super is before the time skip yet, do we?Deathbringer wrote:So a question for the ones that say they watch the movies in the timeframe where they would take place: In your future binge watches will you watch BoG, RoF and the entirety of Dragon Ball Super in between the last few episodes with the time skip?

Re: How do you watch the series?
It seems several people need to refer to what (little information) we know.
As of my writing this post right this second, literally all we know about the timeframe for Super is that Buu has been defeated. We do not specifically know if Super will take place - a la the JSAT special, Battle of Gods, and Revival of "F" (or for that matter, after/during/before any of THOSE particular events) - in the ten-year time skip present in the manga, OR if it will take place AFTER the events of the manga.
