God of Destruction in Budokai 3.
I haven't seen anyone bring this up. I'm surprised people don't talk about it more. In Budokai 3, story mode Broli is CONSTANTLY referred to as being the God of Destruction. What do you guys think? Conicidence? or Conspiracy?

If anyone should have been handed the title of God Of Destruction prior to Beerus' introduction, it should have been Freeza. I mean, he actually officially destroyed planets in Dragon Ball.Dyno wrote:Jesus Christ... Buu would have been made more sense since he was the destroyer of worlds before Freeza even existed.

Cell has been referred to as a "God of Destruction", too. It's a pretty standard phrase/title to be granted... it's just that we got a more-literal one in Beerus

Even Lord Luud in GT was constantly referred to as a God of Destruction.

I think it is the same as Gotenks being the ''Grim Reaper of Justice''.

Freeza never destroyed an entire galaxy though.Lord Beerus wrote:If anyone should have been handed the title of God Of Destruction prior to Beerus' introduction, it should have been Freeza. I mean, he actually officially destroyed planets in Dragon Ball.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Well, if we're going by feats in the anime/movies, Majin Boo was able to rip apart the fabrics of time and space by screaming.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Freeza never destroyed an entire galaxy though.Lord Beerus wrote:If anyone should have been handed the title of God Of Destruction prior to Beerus' introduction, it should have been Freeza. Yeah, but he never destroyed the universe, even though he had the ability to do so. Just like Yi Xing Long.Lord Beerus wrote:Well, if we're going by feats in the anime/movies, Majin Boo was able to rip apart the fabrics of time and space by screaming.

Wow! I never noticed that! This is why I love Kanzenshuu! I'm always learning new stuff. Any other instances where this phrase is used?VegettoEX wrote:Cell has been referred to as a "God of Destruction", too. Prior to Battle of Gods, the title "God of Destruction" was used in the anime and video games, but not in the manga. I think it's safe to assume that Toei invented the title and Toriyama just ran with it when they handed him the first draft of Battle of Gods.

Just don't forget Luud (ルード): also called Lord Luud or God of Destruction Luud (破壊神ルード) in DBGT series
