100%. It could probably pass it today and definitely will tomorrow.SaiyanBaller22 wrote:Assuming Fukkatsu No F has made ¥2.6 Billion Yen, what's the likelihood it'll get to ¥3 Billion Yen by this Saturday?
Monday estimate: ¥210 million
Total estimate: ¥2.85 billion
Re: Resurrection F Box Office - ¥2.6 billion ($22.7 million)
Yeah, but still 25% away from Toei's goal. What will this mean for future movies, I wonder?Lord Beerus wrote:It looks like RF is very close to officially outgrossing BOG.johnboy1 wrote:Golden Week Cumulative (thus far): ¥822.11 million ($6.91 million)

I think it's still got around 4 weeks in cinemas yet, well that's if it's in cinemas for as long as BoG at least. It most definitely isn't out of it yet.sangofe wrote:Yeah, but still 25% away from Toei's goal. Now that I have more time...
Monday Estimated Gross - ¥210 million ($1.74 million)
Total - ¥2.85 billion ($23.7 million)
Today is another Golden Week holiday, specifically Children's day and from the looks of things it has quite possibly surpassed Battle of Gods and ¥3 billion today.

If that's the case then there's still a chance it'll reach it's 4 billion goal by the end of it's run.Bullza wrote:From the looks of things it has quite possibly surpassed Battle of Gods and ¥3 billion today.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Will there even be future movies? We have a series coming out. >.>sangofe wrote:Yeah, but still 25% away from Toei's goal. "Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
Re: Resurrection F Box Office - ¥2.6 billion ($22.7 million)
I'm sure there will be other movies as it was likely the success of those that meant we got a new series to begin with.
Other long series have had movies at the same time, DBZ included so I don't see any reason why they would stop if they're making ¥3-4 billion each.
What I do wonder is how they'd tie the series and the movies together. Is the series going to become canon and the future movies will go back to how they were before or is the series going to be non canon and the movies will stay canon or will both be canon.
I'd hope for the latter.

Echoing Bullza thoughts, I am very certain we will get new movies even while the series is airing. Dragon Ball is going through a second wave of popularity and Toei would be foolish not to capitalize on that in every regard.

If we get more alongside Super then hopefully Toriyama will be writing them as well.

In my opinion, if there are too be more new Dragon Ball films produced in the future, which we can arguably expect, then I'd say that Fukkatsu No F will be the last "Z" movie. Then from there on out, Toriyama and Toei will produce films under the name Dragon Ball "Super"
Re: Resurrection F Box Office - ¥2.6 billion ($22.7 million)
Golden Week Cumulative thus far: ¥1.01 billion ($8.51 million).

And with that, ROF has officially outgrossed BOG. Way it go, Toei and Toriyama!johnboy1 wrote:Golden Week Cumulative thus far: ¥1.01 billion ($8.51 million).

Re: Resurrection F Box Office - ¥2.6 billion ($22.7 million)
Yeah, even if it doesn't meet its overall goal, the fact that it grossed more than its predecessor (and made a profit) is pretty much an automatic greenlight for any future sequels/Super tie-ins.Lord Beerus wrote:And with that, ROF has officially outgrossed BOG. It really makes you wonder about the nature of the movies from now on. Will the series build up to the events of the next movie, or will the movies be their own self-contained stories like in the old days?

Re: Resurrection F Box Office - ¥2.6 billion ($22.7 million)
The big events should stay exclusive to the series while the movies should be stories that aren't big enough to get their own arcs but at the same time be part of the overall story in terms of moving the plot foreword.johnboy1 wrote:Will the series build up to the events of the next movie, or will the movies be their own self-contained stories like in the old days?
Similar to FNF,it was a story that moved the plot foreword but it wasn't something that needed an entire arc to tell.

Re: Resurrection F Box Office - ¥2.6 billion ($22.7 million)
So then in dollars too
Tuesday - ¥190 million ($1.58 million)
Total - ¥3.14 billion ($26.18 million)
Edit: I think that should be ¥3.04 billion actually.
We won't get actuals until Golden Week is over but it does look like it has probably surpassed Battle of Gods then. So the next goal is for it to pass ¥4 billion.
It has one last day of Golden Week left then it'll drop like a rock. No idea if it'll reach its goal or not.
