-About the Dragon Ballrecast-
Sooner or later will happen. The voice actors are getting really old and Dragon Ball will continue forever. Even Nozawa will be changed in the future. Let's just hope its later.
Its sad but that's how life is. I'm already happy for being able to enjoy the series on their prime.
I don't know if Nozawa would ever be replaced if she dies. She *IS* Goku as far is concerned for most people in Japan. I fear they would boycott the whole thing if someone else takes over Goku's voice even after her death.
Hey, guys, anyone knows how the Japanese fans are taking this? Has there been any talks about what they expect/hope/fear for this new series?? I would love to know their perspective...

The entie entertainment business is doing it, west and east. It's too risky launching new properties these days. Old proven brands are goldmines for companies. Most of the big summer movies, or games are sequels/reboots etc. Toei is just doing what everyone else is doing - capitalizing on their biggest worldwide cash cows.

That's good to know. I hope she voices Son Goku for as long as she can.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

That's kind of a morbid thought but, ultimately, everybody is replaceable and I think even the most ardent fan will accept any potential change so long as the replacement captures the essence of the characters. Other cast members have, unfortunately, passed on and has forced their characters to be recast, therefore If there is still a demand for Dragon Ball decades in the future and there's money to be made, Toei isn't going to let something like replacement voices get in the way.

They are not going to end Dragon Ball just because if Nozawa does pass away in the near future. It will be sad but many iconic characters have been played by other people and people will always remember the original actor who play the character. No matter who voices Goku in Japanese in the future, everyone will always remember Nozawa.
So, with the decline for DVD and Blu-ray sales, but with the increase earnings due to the influx of new titles for TV series, is that why they decided to produce Dragon Ball Super TV series?
Home video will obviously decline when you only produce long-running trash series and have fewer major hit films. I don't think the decline is anything more than what one could have expected coming off of One Piece Film Z and Dragon Ball Z: Kami to Kami. Conversely, running eight or nine series at a time has obviously done well for Toei Animation, so including a new Dragon Ball series in the mix makes sense.

Lots of mentions of GT. Everyone wants to know how it impacts that.
I see BOG and F popping up, but not as frequent.
interesting
people talk about GT, Goku; vegeta, Pan, Bra, Goten, Trunks but nobody talks about Oob ...

Agreed. This reasoning (or lack of it) is hilarious. We are talking of caracters essential to the overall story. Whether they fight or not, the humans are staying and showing up in one shape or another, by virtue of having considerable fanbases alone.
The fandom who tries to gloss it over is just wishful thinking over nothing.
Is that why he was shuffled off to the sidelines so fast in GT, even though he'd just come off of training under Gokû himself?
My theory was they just didn't know what to do with him without turning him into a second kid Gohan.
PiccoloFan7289 wrote:The humans will not be fighting much if at all in this new series. Yamucha is retired, and I believe Kuririn only trains so he doesn't get weaker. Tenshinhan still trains but the power gap between him and these new villains coming will be to big for him to even consider getting involved. I don't even want to see the human fighters fight at this point. Just show them living out their lives and let us see what they are up to every once in a while. Only chance for old characters becoming relevant in fights again is Piccolo (big maybe and only with a godly power up), and Majin Boo who I don't think anyone should dismiss as being fodder.
If the new movies are of any indication, despite them not all figthing together or in every appearance, the humans still actively train. Kuririn and Yamucha were shown, to Goku`s own surprise) to wear the Gi under their normal outfits, in Goku and Friends. Tenshinhan likewise for the following movies as well, despite not showing up in the first one.
They will show up as long Toryama cares to catter to the human character fanbase.
It's crazy for me to sit and think about the new transformations that might occur. Don't jump down my throat...but with each new transformation I kinda care less and less for it. I reckon the new movie has Goku and Vegeta? with Blue hair. it reminded me of those old pictures from back in the day were they would invert the colors and call it like Super Saiyan 6 or 7!! haha I want Oob to be the new hero so bad I can't stand it! I know that won't work and eventually Goku or Vegeta will have to show up and save the day.
