If owned by marvel.. and Marvel Universe Studios...
Then Dbz in a MCU movie would be epic!

Bardock and Gine would die anyway. But at least they would get a decent and worthy screentime, character development and would serve better their purpose. So I think it would be better if Dragon Ball were an American comic.

If Dragon Ball were an American Comic, then it would've gotten a serious big-budget movie.

And yet it might still end up sucking (look at the Daredevil, Elektra, Green Lantern, or Ghost Rider movies for example).Monkey King Vegeta wrote:If Dragon Ball were an American Comic, then it would've gotten a serious big-budget movie.

Re: If DB were an American comic?
Maybe each character would get their own comic book series, it can kind of work, Yamcha could have a series where him and Pu'ar go on desert adventures robbing from people but also helping by taking down some of Pilaf's operations, sort of like Robin Hood, but then one day he meets Goku in his own comic and it merges with the Bulma+Goku series which started earlier. Krillin comics could be a bit like Dennis the Menace except he gets mostly beaten up by life and one day wants to just escape so merges with the current mainline Goku series, then they get a brief spin off of Goku&Krillin comics where they train for and fight in a martial arts tournament with guest appearances from Yamcha, Bulma, Roshi etc, during this series Launch is introduced and gets her own spin off series after the point at which she disappears in the manga.
Basically every character starts off in a spin off comic before getting merged into the main "Dragon Ball" series, think of it like how the MCU is done with every main storyline that Goku is involved with is their equivalent of an Avengers movie. Doing this means we could actually get Roshi/Shen's backstory explained in a miniseries and many gaps in the plot and things that go unexplained can be expanded upon in their own series.

If released today, we'd have to pay $3 to $5 for each chapter.
Deaths would still be just as meaningless, only they'd be hyped up like you wouldn't believe.

It would have more of a "monster of the week" feel, with everything eventually returning to the status quo and no real timeline progression. Just like Spider-Man or Superman it would get constantly revived/relaunched every couple of years and would be more like a continuous work, with no definite ending.
They did get a team name, "Earth's Special Forces" (FUNimation abandoned that term pretty quickly).RandomGuy96 wrote: The Z-fighters would get a team name.

The Ghost Rider movies are fuckin' ridiculous and also great. If you can't appreciate a burning biker skeleton climbing into an excavator and turning it into a hellfire juggernaut, well, there's not much anyone can do to help ya.Polyphase Avatron wrote:And yet it might still end up sucking (look at the Daredevil, Elektra, Green Lantern, or Ghost Rider movies for example).
Re: If DB were an American comic?
The series would lack the charm that makes it so unique even among other Weekly JUMP comics. Look no further than the manner in which Gokuu is often written in Toei Animation original storylines to see what an American comic would feel like.

Marvel could probably capture DB's charm. The MCU have a well balance action, adventure, and comedy too it just like DB.JulieYBM wrote:The series would lack the charm that makes it so unique even among other Weekly JUMP comics. Re: If DB were an American comic?
Story arcs would allow a lot more focus on a bigger cast, than just a couple few. Even weaker characters would get a chance to do something worth while in a story arc.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
