Missed an important word in there somewhere. Were you referring to me?
 Sorry, I meant to add SSJ Kaboom as the director.
...Wow! Britney Spears naked! (I love the enthusiasm for those by the way  )

I'd love to help with the sound, and maybe try out for some characters too. :D

Those are what I'm worried about, since we can easily get things like wind, footseteps, falling rocks, etc. elsewhere. We might have to do some audio ripping from DVDs if all else fails.
We could take them from video games. Duh! Specifically, Beat 'em-ups. You can sometimes go into the 'Sound Test' option and scroll through 100s of effects (mainly with PS1 games).

Two days being gone, and look what we have here!

This honestly sounds like a cool idea. I'm up for it. Unfortunately, my mic is busted, so I can't really do much. But I'd really like to help on the writing, if that's possible =D

That's a good idea, actually. That way, we can let this one continue as a general discussion on the project. I'll go make it...
Why thank you...

Just a word of advice guys-If you're going to be suprised by the amount of grunting you have to do and whatnot, perhaps you shouldn't try out for any voicing stuff.....a large and I mean a *large* part of voice acting is actually making your voice sound like the physical stuff is really happening. As a matter of fact, that's what really seperates the truly talented and skilled VAs, I mean the ones that the casting and recording directors use all the time, from the mediocre ones. This is an area of acting, more than any other, where one truly has to be a chameleon to get regular work. And I use the term "regular" loosely, as there are only a handful of NAs who one can accurately say make an actual living at voicing. But I digress...I apologize as I'm not trying to sound like I'm discouraging people out of this, but I just think some people here need to calm down.

From the last 2 pages I've read, I can see people getting caught up in the whole "15-minutes-of-fame-OMG-I-get-to-play-at-being-an-actor!" hype and jumping the gun. Even as the main people organizing this have stated a few times that auditions and whatnot are barely on their minds right now. Why doesn't everyone wait and see if all the other stuff, such as having *actual* footage to work with, can be done first? :? Since right now, all these "I want to voice such and such" type posts are clogging up the thread with unnecessary verbage. Give these guys a chance to take this slowly. Like that old saying goes, "Too many cooks in the kitchen...."

Don't worry about that...

If we want to portray a character as out of breath, we'll just get the VA to run around the block a few times.

Or, if you want them to sound beaten up, just beat up the VA yourself (preferably with a bat).

-_- Let me first of all apologize ahead of time for what I'm about to say....when I mention some people need "reality checks", this is the reason why.

I see what you mean, Jerseymilk. I'm sure the cliche posts you mentioned are all with good intentions. Everybody is a little excited over this but there is a lot more than just audio to worry about. That's one of the reasons why I quoted Kaboom's list of positions required.
Jerseymilk wrote:Like that old saying goes, "Too many cooks in kitchen...."
Hey, I used that in an earlier DBwiki proposal ;p. The funny part about that is that we had a lot of volunteers but we only have a fraction of actual signatures at wikipedia. When the hype over this dub project dies down, only the truely interested (dedicated) people will remain. Kind of like dbz over here, eh....

Well I wish you luck in the endeavour at any rate. 8) I think what you said is a good way to look at it.

And I in no way meant to insinuate people's posts were "cliched". I know everyone means well, I've just seen this so many times before as someone who has studied and been in the field for a good number of years. People have a lot of illusions and misconceptions about the actual world of acting and that it's a "cakewalk" thanks to talentless celebrities that rake in millions for garbage films. I suppose I've just grown weary of seeing and hearing it so much....so forgive me and my cynical attitude. :P

As I said, I truly hope you're able to get a group of dedicated fans to accomplish your goal. :)

Then it would be a pretty short dub consisting of the sounds of a shotgun blast and the world exploding. :)

Okay, okay, you all asked for it. Here's a small video I made out of my very first VAing attempts ever.

Crap-tastic!

...and here's the cheap, crappy microphone I did it with.

...not bad, considering.

Tori, you have to download it from the site he's uploaded it to first. Just click on the link and it will take you to Megaupload's page. Then type in the code you see displayed into the blank box. It will tell you to wait about 45 seconds and then a download prompt will come up. 8)

I'm on a pretty horrible school pc right now, so it's hard to scroll and stuff..."<snip image>" guys ;p. Anyway, I was able to see the video I just can't here it because there are no speakers here  . I'll post again with a bit of a review later.

-also- So that's what you look like, Kaboom(after stumbling upon your myspace). I assumed you looked exactly like Future Trunks(Thus the reason why I ask for no changing of the avatars :) ). And, no, if I go to a convention you will not see a namekian by the name of Rick.

-edit-I finally got to hear your clip. I thought that Tullece was pretty good and although I appreciated the "let that child go" nod, I felt that Piccolo could be a bit more animated. I'll be putting up my samples soon.
