Will there be a seperate thread where we post our auditions; or will it be in this thread once we decide which movie to do?

Actually, Bura, if we're doing movie 3, perhaps you'd make a pretty darn good Puar. Ocean VA had a somewhat British accent and FUNi's had a ... squeeky-mouse thing going, so perhaps a Dutch tone would be most welcome.

Chuquita, I hope you audition for Bulma, I remember hearing you once on a podcast and I think you'd do a pretty good job. Far better than Tiffany Vollmer IMO.

On topic, as soon as I have myself a mic, I'm auditioning for both Yamcha and Trunks with help from DB-Arena clips. Be looking forward.

...Um, actually, I forgot to mention that Gohan was my little sister. And my other little sister sounded even better, but she was out when I was recording. Sorry for the confusion... :oops:

S'why I suggested a girl do his voice; If most other guys are like me, then we suck at Gohan's voice.

There'll be a seperate thread for auditioning, when the time comes. This thread should remain a "General Discussion" one. I just posted my "VAing" because someone requested to hear me (Q.D., I think).

Don't get too ahead of yourselves with the auditioning, guys. It hasn't even been confirmed what Movie we're doing yet, and even then, we should decide on the important positions I listed earlier.

In fact, that's where I'd like to turn the conversation now. We need to start nominating people or volunteering for those important positions. If you want, you can still audition for VAing as well, but it'd mean more work. It's a democracy in picking people for these positions, so if you don't think a nominee would be good at it, or believe that yourself or someone else would be better, then feel free to do so.

That said, I'd like to volunteer/nominate myself for director, as well as doing a good deal of writing. Hopefully I'll get to VA a small part, like Tenshinhan, Yamcha, or one of Tullece's henchmen, as well.

That way, the appointed writer can scribble up an English script based upon your wondrous translations.
Any transcript of the translations I did are no longer mine to give, and are the property of FUNimation. I could get into a lot of hot water if I were to provide them. Such is the nature of the business.

I'd love to audition for Bulma. I need to whip out my old Movie 3 dvd so I have some lines to practice with first before I attempt to record.

Completely understood. I guess we'll just have to watch the movie and get the dialogue ourselves, then. Thanks for replying either way, though. :D

Can we still count on you to be asked a question or two, if need be, though?

Okay guys. I have some random lines put together here. Get ready to hear Mr.Piccolo as live as it gets for the first time in your entertainment unit! *crowd cheers* I'm gonna throw down some lines for some background characters because in the long run, I'm not sure if I can do an entire movie in character. Keep in mind that this would be my first "pro" audio job and I'm using a two dollar microphone that literally has the pricetag on it.

::Rick's test clips: Click Here/Mirror(?)
::Sound Clips:: Click Here

-edit- I was going to give this to Kaboom or whoever was running the sound department but what the hell, we're all on the same team (excluding a small group)-I put the audio clips for everybody to download. This folder contains 50+ wav files of dragonball sound effects. I could dig around for more but this should do for now.There should be a giant button that says 'download here' on the page you clicked on. If something doesn't go right, just pm me or something. Enjoy!

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

The script would have to be modified to fit the mouth flaps... so in the end, after rephrasin and condensing/extending the dialog, it would end up being a completely different script than Mr. Simmons'.

So the writer's job should be to adapt the direct Japanese translation to fit the mouth movements in a way that no information is lost.

Man, I wish I could contribute a voice to this. If only I had a microphone.

Or some spare cash to get one.

A proposal (or me begging)

Please Mike! Dub Roshi for this! :lol:

And I think Movie 3 would be best. I would contribute, if I had a mic or any skills at audio editing.. :cry:

Well, I'd like to volunteer for Vegeta (if you need him) then, and possibly Kuririn. I'll make some samples whenever you all start taking auditions. I don't think I'd be any help on the editing and mixing front, though.

I was thinking about this and I am interested in doing a role for this little Fandub. I feel as if I could do any role. I would like to know what roles are needed and what roles are open. I could do them and will fill in as a extra. I just want to know what needs to be done as far as VA work goes. It'll be great if this actually comes to be. I can't wait to be part of this.

Yeah, in that case, I'm nominating myself for the writer position. But considering it's that coveted, I'm willing to work with another person (The more the better!). =)

Officially, Daizenshuu EX takes no stand on this unauthorized fan dub. But unofficially-- and myself having heard said impression in numerous podcasts-- we perhaps could beg and whine and sign him on to be a guest star under a different name, like Michael Jackson in The Simpsons' third season. :shock:
