What do you prefer for the attack names in sub/dubs?

I would've thought "Why are they eating balls of rice?" It's not a normal thing for most Americans, let alone American kids, to know about. It's just localization. Cater to the masses, not the weeaboos.

For reals. Let's not pretend you didn't specifically sign up for a huge website and forum dedicated to a Japanese children's cartoon. Tossing out "weaboo" here as a pejorative is hysterical. Like, seriously laughing out loud kind of thing going on here.

My use of the word "weeaboo" was for the people so obsessive they want everything to be to a T of the original. Maybe it wan't the right word to use, didn't mean to offend anyone or anything and sorry if I did. Just trying to get my point across in that they weren't going for the core of anime/manga niche fans, they were trying to bring it to the masses.

Looking down on someone wanting things to be accurate - as accurate as possible, even - likely isn't too far outside the realm of whatever you consider your own fandom to be. You wouldn't be reading this website, let along contributing to discussion on its forum, were that not the case.

I'm not trying to look down on anyone who is. I'm just saying it's understandable why they didn't for the reasons I mentioned before.

And I don't get why you keep bringing up the fact that I signed up for this website almost a decade ago. I get it, I'm a member here and a fan of the series. I used a wrong terminology to try and get my point across and apologized and tried to correct it. Can't we just get on with the discussion?

I think the delivery of some of attacks, whether Japanese or English, is somewhat silly altogether, so there's never going to be a good resolution for the names. Other times, it's great.

The "Gallick Gun", for instance, was never going to be spun into something cool.
