Officially, Daizenshuu EX takes no stand on this unauthorized fan dub. But unofficially-- and myself having heard said impression in numerous podcasts-- we perhaps could beg and whine and sign him on to be a guest star under a different name, like Michael Jackson in The Simpsons' third season.
Well, just because "Daizenshuu EX" takes no official part in it doesn't mean "Mike LaBrie" can't, right?

Or is he just gonna be a party pooper like usual?

I was planning on doing a chunk of the writing, too. So as long as you end up getting the position, you've got me to help you out.

Hey,

I think if Mike wants to accept the Roshi part he can do. Don't keep going on about it though, so far he hasn't said he is interested and I'm sure he knows it's there.

Considering there isn't too many voice parts I think the people who want them should get them, before making requests for people to join, even if it is Mike.

Anybody else having problems with my files downloads? If so, I can try uploading them somewhere else this afternoon. I did some random voices including dub Roshi and I'd just like to say doing voice work is much harder than it seems. Kaboom, you should take Conan's suggested title (jump to the vote thread).

Well, I just got 'em to work, Rick (albeit on a different PC than before).

{Your VAing}: Nice. Good Piccolo voice, and I love "carnival." We'll definitely have to use that, or some variety ("Park?" "Mall?") of it.

{Your SFX} This is all forms of nice. A lot of the basics, and then some. I'ma gonna try setting some of these to my earlier recording...

Thanks but I thought I removed that carnival one.>< That was the very first shot I did. Meh, that is a scene in movie three right?

One thing I noticed that we might need... scouter noises. I tried using your generic GBA-sounding beeps, but... it just wasn't the same...

Guys, d'you think this is any good? I added the music, and boy... did it take me a while to synchronise it.

The BGM is 'Oh Fortuna'. The rest of the song got cut; You-tube doesn't accept a blank screen and music. DB Arena was the video source. :P

By the way, everyone, I just actually read Jersey's post from a page or two back... and she's right. Calm down. We're (specifically, myself and others like Rick who've been greatly supporting me) not worrying about auditioning yet. We're still trying to decide what movie to do, and tossing ideas around in terms of things like footage, SFX, equipment, etc... Jersey is indeed right; auditions are the last things on our minds. So for now, just practice to yourselves and be patient; the time will come soon.

Okay, so in that regard, we return to those key positions, filled or otherwise...
  • I've volunteered for director, if nobody else wants to (Vegeta voice: "Is that okay?").

Eclipse has volunteered to do (some of) the writing, and I plan to help him out on that.

Tenken has offered to help with sound (It's a big job, buddy; you sure you can handle it?), but I think there should be at least two people doing that.

I've hereby decreed Rick/Mr.Piccolo as official SFX fetcher.
So that leaves us with two as of yet unfilled.

[Footage Provider] - DragonBox footage would obviously be preffered, if at all possible. This above all is the one thing I'm hoping Mike will do for us; not only does he own the DragonBoxes, but, being an accomplished AMV creator, he knows how to rip the footage properly.
If this falls through, of course, then anyone else knowledgeable in the world of dvd ripping with a copy of the selected movie might do it for us.

[Video Editor] - This is another important position. It won't be too hard, since hopefully, it would mainly consist of syncing up the audio tracks that the sound person(s) provide him or her. It'll still be a good deal of work, though, so maybe this should be two or more people working together. However, it'll still require technical editing knowledge so our end result is of at leat

So filling those two positions is the priority right now. Also, a few other departments could use one or two more people to help out in.

______

(A few more things...)

Nice job with the music syncing there, Stevey. Good choice for that part, as well. Does this mean you're willing to help out in the music department?

Also, we need to decide on a new group name, since Mike doesn't want us going by anything like "DaizEX group." Here's a few suggestions from Rick...
  • -" Mr.Piccolo's Audio Jamboree"
    - "The Kaboom FanDub-Cut
    -Room 29 Productions
    -Green29 Project
    -Mr.Piccolo's Audio Jamboree
    -"The Subbie Dub"
I'm favoring "Room 29 Productions," since it references the forum members without directly referencing the forum itself.

Yeah me too, but to make it fair we should stick this in the other thread. Maybe you could edit your post with the movies in and place these names as well so people can vote on the movies and the name.

Unfortunatley, I'm not very good at ripping DVDS or putting voices over movies or sounds. Realistically all I can do at the moment is record sound and come up with brilliant names like ''Room 29 Productions'' .

But I am learning and playing around figureing things out. I don't know how much use I will be though.

Wow! I'm flattered :) Once the movie is chosen, I'll really crack down of the SFX we actually need. I wouldn't mind doing writing either. We'd need somebody cross checking the script, right? Although the entire forum was wishing for Mr.Piccolo's Audio Jamboree, I see Room 29 (R29) Productions being a pretty good title (even though I hate what it stands for ;p). Many thanks to the feedback, guys. I guess the last thing to look for are people to fill up the open spots and the movie vote to finish so we can start. I have to admit that my schedule will be changing very soon. My semester ends on the 15th but I start working on the 5th (Macy's. Sales Department. Wearing a suit EVERYDAY). Either way I'll try to set some time aside for this project, the wiki one, and destroying room29.

I feel silly asking but what DOES "Room 29" stand for? Is it related to the Red Ribbon army somehow as I've seen someone with the logo on it as their avatar here somewhere.

My semester also ends the week of the 15th.

Well, "Regular" Chuquita, Room29 is (was) a running gag for the forum. It wasn't until recently that I made a group of Piccolo fans (which you should join) that Room29 became an army. In short it's the closest thing the daizex forums without saying it and it's new "Phil". Do yourself a favor and stay faraway from the intro section. :) Hope that helps. Is the 15th a NJ schooling thing?

I like Room29 Productions. Sounds professional.

Also, since it seems like the consensus is for Movie 3, I actually tried setting up a clip, sort of like Steven Perry (although while doing this, I wasn't aware of him doing it). I used Mr. Piccolo's sound effects and synced up this scene with "The Kraken" of Pirates of the Caribbean 2. From what you're reading, it might not make a lot of sense to put that particular song with the clip..but I think it works.

Here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT0Iu620I98

No voices...however, I want to try to voice them on during the weekend or something. Can anyone tell me what kind of software I can use to record voices?

Thanks, and enjoy!

Ah. Thank you. :3
This is why I'm not yet an "OMG CRAZY REG" XD

Most of the colleges in NJ end their semesters halfway through December. The week of the 15th is actually finals week at my school. Depending on which of my classes have final exams, I could either end on Monday or be there til Friday. Two of my teachers have yet to state if we have one or not. The other two opted for projects instead.
On hiatus.

Ooh.

Saiyan, that was very good.

...Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Although it looks as though Movie 3's the winner, there's still a whole day and a half left to vote on the other thread. Please do so, if you haven't already.

Thanks for volunteering, Mr. Announcer.

BTW, my last day for the semester is the 22nd.
