Improvements, ideas and wish list for Xenoverse 2
Seeing the success of Xenoverse, I think it's quite obvious there's going to be a sequel to it.
So, I created this topic to post our ideas and wishes for the next game!
I will edit this post and add more ideas and improvements.
Story Mode
- Flesh out story mode, with both fights not in Xenoverse and through what ifs.
- Add more what-ifs stories.
- More battles with original cast characters. Build up the story until the time breakers decide to change history.
Graphics
- The shading style on the characters should try to emulate the show better, with a more traditional cel-shading style as seen in Burst Limit.
- Overall the graphics should feel more like the show, and less shiny.
General
- Make finding Dragon Balls much easier, and more about skill than about luck and RNG.
- DLC Gear should be unlocked immediately after purchase.
- Allow free chat instead of presets.
- Allow our created characters to be on the same select screen. This way, we could have our created characters on the same teams in quests and vs. matches, have our created characters fight one another, etc.
- Allow our masters to be in specific locations, so that we don't have to do about twenty quests before we find the master we want to train with.
- A bigger, or perhaps multiple overworlds. Maybe we can have an overworld on Namek, TokiToki, West City, etc. and we can switch between them. Ability to fly in these worlds.
- Allow 2v1s, 3v1s, 3v2s, etc. Basically make it so each doesn't have to be equal if said team doesn't want it that.
- Allow Free-for-alls.
- Make the time limit in matches an option.
Gameplay
- Much more complex combos like in Shin Budokais.
- Beam struggles need to come back.
- Dramatically improve stage destruction, making it permanent, and bring back the complete stage destruction like in older games.
- Ki supers impact should fell more "right" as it felt in older titles. Basically, combat should feel a lot more like the 2D games.
- Fix the camera when fighting.
- Fix the hit detection.
- Improve the lock-on system.
- Remove items from every form of PvP.
Character Creation
- More options for everything. Add face features option including facial hair and scars.
- Free slider when choosing Height and Weight. Majin race shouldn't lock fat to males and skinny to females.
- Can choose aura color and style, also your character has the same fighting style as his mentor.
- TAILS for Saiyans. And equipment with tail wrapped around waist should be exclusive to Saiyans with tails.
- Increase the level cap to 100.
Super Saiyan
- Remove Super Vegeta.
- First, hair should spike up when going SSJ, spike more when going SSJ2 and grow a lot when going SSJ3.
- SSJs should have access to supers at half cost, but doing an ultimate should revert the character to its base form.
- Boost should be SSJ 5%, SSJ2 10% and SSJ3 20%. This applies to all stats.
- Unlike in Xenoverse, if you go Super Saiyan the transformation doesn't end when your Ki goes to zero (unless you are SSJ3).
- You revert to normal SSJ if you are SSJ2.
- SSJ has no time limit. SSJ2 lasts like SSJ1 in XV and SSJ3 lasts like SSJ2 in XV.
Transformations
- Frieza Race should have a Final Form transformation. It would be a permanent transformation in battle, boosting stats by 10%.
- Every other race should have Potential Unlocked, which would work exactly like SSJ1.
Races
- Add more races. Ex. Demon Race, Kai Race, Cyborg/Android Race and Cell/Bio-Android Race.
- Balance all the races and add more character slots.
Equipment
- No stats for equipment, RNG can stay but has to be nerfed badly.
- More generic color-changable items (Battle Armor, more gi types, shirt and jacket combo)
- Make all clothes color customizable.
- More original costumes.
- Capes and scarves become accessories.
Characters design changes
- Vegeta's Buu arc outfit in XV is completely wrong as far as the anime depiction goes, it shouldn't be a skin tight jumpsuit but instead be blue pants and a blue tank top that don't show every detail of his muscle definition.
- Straight haired characters like Trunks, 17 and 18 have their hair done as a solid block, it should be split into a couple different sections and given physics like in the Blast games.
- The faces of the Son family are a little weird and need some tweaking, mainly with the eyes.
- Goku and Adult Gohan's musculature are ever so slightly too thick, and they (especially Goku) look pretty boxy.
- A lot of characters, Vegeta especially, should have the length of their noses shortened a little bit.
- Fourth Form Freeza's brow should be smoothed out.
- 17 and 18's eyes should be just a tad bit taller.
Roster
- Introduce more new characters/transformations that are exclusive to the game. (What-If characters)
- Add more Original Cast characters, priority to: Chiaotzu, Zarbon, Dodoria, Freeza 2nd form, Freeza 3rd form, Android 19, Android 16, Cell 1st form, Cell 2nd form, Swordless Trunks, Dabura, Majin Vegeta, Buutenks, Buuhan and Super Gogeta. If possible, add the remaining movie characters. Try to not make characters feel like clones.
- Option to change moveset on original cast characters (only using their moves), and also the option to change their outfits (only choosing outfits they wore on the show). This would reduce the number of alternate costumes and give us more freedom of choice, like it was in Raging Blast 2.
So, I created this topic to post our ideas and wishes for the next game!

Gonna split this into sections like you did.
Characters
- Chiaotzu, Zarbon, Dodoria, all Freeza forms, all Cell forms, and all Buu forms are necessary in my book.
- Dabura, Uub, Android 16/19/20, Tarble, and Chilled would all be appreciated, too.
- I'd also like more costumes (especially more casual clothes) but there's a lot as-is so maybe not.
Custom Character stuff
- Either no stat boosts on gear, or a cosmetic slot like Spiral Knights has.
- RNG can stay if nerfed heavily.
- Balance Super Saiyan way more and give every race a transformation.
- Add a Demon race and a Cell race, along with more character slots.
- More generic color-changable items (Battle Armor, more gi types, shirt and jacket combo)
Misc.
- Flesh out story mode, with both fights not in Xenoverse and through what ifs. I know it sounds contradictory, but as an example, give us the earlier parts of the Cell saga, then turn it around when it hits the Cell Games to diversify.
- Permanent stage destruction instead of just a brief effect.
- Offline 1v2/2v3/etc. If I want to fight Towa and Mira with my Time Patroller, I have to do it one after the other, when I want two formidable foes.
- Give DLC gear away at purchase. The Resurrection F costumes did it right - I shouldn't have to grind out quests or save mountains of Zeni to get a part of my $10 purchase.

I think the issue is just characters. Just try to not let a vast of major characters out. Add the recent ones, such as; Abo, Cado, Tarble, Chilled and Evil Bardock. Add some what-if's from Dragon Ball Heroes, I mean, just the awesome what-if's, such as; Buu with Babidi and/or Kibitoshin absorbed, Super Paikuhan... Not everyone and every thing that appeared there.

Beef up the roster, scrap moves that make you immune to flinching, give transformations to every race, balance out the races, nerf the mechanics for the SSJ transformation, get rid of the damn RNG and get rid of costumes that boost or decrease your stats and we're good to go in Xenoverse 2.

My ideas.
Gameplay:
- Make finding Dragon Balls easier
- Fix the camera when fighting
- Bring back in game transformations for Cell and Freeza
- Make the lock on system much better since it can be super annoying when fighting so many people at once
- Have up to 10 fighters fight at once
- Have a choice to have team battles or solo battles. In other words you can have 6 player match without doing 3 vs. 3. or 5 vs. 5.
- Can blow up the whole Planet like you can in the older games.
- RNG should be nerfed heavily.
- You can choose to create Saiyans, Humans, Namkes, Freeza's race, Majin, Animals, Cyborgs/Androids, Demons, Kais and Cell's race
- You can use the PS4 pad to draw your own detail on your characters (like symbols on your character faces)
- Can edit your own characters facial features and clothes
- Make the game be a open world game similar to the Elder Scroll games where you can travel across the planet and you can fight common enemies to level up your stats.
Story:
Instead doing a rehash of the first game, make the story be more creative. Allow your character to make the choices on what it can happen in the timeline. For example: You can choose to have Vegeta die in the Saiyan saga or help Cell kill Gohan. Your character can start off good and become evil over time based on the actions you make. If your character becomes too evil then you end up working with the Time Breakers. If your evil character becomes good by making the right choices in the story then you return working with the Time Patrol. More stuff like DBO like Churai, Mega Ginyu Frog and villains with the Time Breaker gems would be cool to see in the story as well.

I think you should find dragon balls in VS mode or find them when searching around the story mode. I don't want Namco Bandai to do something stupid like MKX did where you can buy all seven Dragon Balls for .99 on PSN and XBL.

I just failed a quest because I couldn't locate all 6 db's on the radar in time. Defeated all the opponents, but then wasted upwards of 7 minutes flying around trying to locate the other 4 db's (and continually hitting the invisible walls). Cell made a comment about buying watches. It was unpleasant.
So! I would like an improvement where you can zoom out on the radar and see just how far away you are from the balls.

I'm pretty sure they were talking about the DBs from Time Patrollers actually used for wishing, but you can already do that. Not entirely sure about on the other systems, but on the PS3 you do it by clicking the right analog stick.

I feel like seeing Time Breaker characters would be fun and the idea of drawing symbols is neat (maybe allow it on clothes, too, like kanji on gis or logos on armor like Cooler's soldiers had), but the open-world idea I see tossed around a lot doesn't appeal to me. Perhaps if a new game/sub-series were built around it, but Xenoverse has a problem with its "hub world = menu" structure as is, and if you alleviate the issue by adding in conventional menus then there's the issue of "why do we need a hub world?".
Don't be too alarmed if I just don't show up for a few months. Hooray for fleeting interests!

I honestly think they should scrap the hub world as a whole. It's pretty damn redundant. The hub world is pointless. And Dimps and BN could save themselves and gamers a lot of stress by getting rid of it as a whole.

The hub world in the first game won't be bad if they have a fast travel to each location. It takes too long if I need to go back to vs mode and do the PQ missions.

All these suggestions:
-Make SSJ/SSJ2/SSV/SSV2 only increase stats. No more infinite supers/ultimates.
-Make a Mutant race (Cell's Race basically), a Brench-Jin race (Like Jeice, Salza, and Zarbon), and an Android race.
-Make all clothes color customizable.
-More original costumes.
-Capes and scarves become accessories.
-Allow the level cap to at least be 100.
-Allow us to chat freely without only using presets.
-Allow our created characters to be on the same select screen. This way, we could have our created characters on the same teams in quests and vs. matches, have our created characters fight one another, etc.
-At least 15 character slots.
-Include a more interesting story that doesn't retell the original plot of DB/Z/GT.
-Remove the fact that clothing effects stats. Honestly.
-Scrap the RNG system.
-Allow our masters to be in specific locations, so that we don't have to do about twenty quests before we find the master we want to train with.
-A bigger, or perhaps multiple overworlds. Maybe we can have an overworld on Namek, TokiToki, West City, etc. and we can switch between them.
-More options and combos for hand-to-hand combat.
-4v4s?
-Allow 2v1s, 3v1s, 3v2s, etc. Basically make it so each doesn't have to be equal if said team doesn't want it that.
-Allow Free-for-alls.
-Bring back beam-struggles.
-Better environmental destruction.
-Make the time limit in matches an option.

We need more fantasy fusions and transformations. SSj4 Broli would have been cool DLC for Xenoverse to promote Heroes and casual American fans would be surprise to see that form for the first time. I do rather see more creative ones like Bebi Janemba or even have Super Buu absorb more powerful characters.

What ifs are always appreciated. Heroes has tons to pull from (Bebi Janemba, SS3 everyone, more Bebi Janemba) and it fits with the plot of Xenoverse. Bardock already has Super Saiyan, so the potential is there.
