Well, sorry you feel that way, but I'm just saying what I assume, and lo and behold, a reliable hypothesis proved it. Doesn't mean I hate yall for being pro-subs. Now, can we please drop it?
No real offense taken, don't worry. :D

As for how I got that impression, Gaffer Tape pretty much hit the nail on the head with that one. You being like "Don't mean to insult some here" implied there was something potentially insulting about your statement.

Either way, s'all good, topic dropped.

Didn't take me long at all. In fact, my first exposure to the JP dub was switching the language on one of my GT DVDs as a kid. I loved it, all the new music, the great theme songs. And then when I saw how much the English dialogue was changed from the JP subs, I just stuck with the original.

The Japanese voices are decent, I only watch sub when the dub isn't available though like in specials that were never aired in the US or the Buu saga for Kai.

If you read an earlier post of mine...no one watches "subs". Rather, you listen to the original language w/subs. Everyone but America has the voices dubbed on top of existing footage. That is, the Japanese original is also a dub.

If this were a foreign live action film, then, yes, it would be "subbed vs dubbed"

Just to spare you the trouble, I saw some guy get bombarded by about ten people telling him not to say 'Jap' when referring to 'Japan' or 'Japanese' because it can be offensive. Once again, this is just a heads up for your own good, I personally don't care what you say.

But, other than that, that's how I got started with the Japanese version, but I never watched the whole series through until people urged me to.

Gotta say, the Japanese dub is amazing. I'm already on episode 26 in the few days I started watching. The acting is superb and I really love Gohan's original voice by Nozawa much more than the voice Nadolny provides in the FUNimation dub. Chi-Chi's voice is taking me a bit to get used to simply because I'm so used to the English dub's voice of her.

It didn't take very long at all. Granted, I was much younger, so I wasn't too critical of any voices, mostly Goku. The music is what won me over. I enjoyed it in the dub of the original Dragon Ball very much.
