So Freeza never used a Ki blast to destroy earth. It was more like he used a powerful Kiai wave on the planet and it created a huge explosion.

I thought he fired ki into the core of the planet which caused all of that lava and stuff to appear and then blow up the Earth.

In terms of the leaked 27 minutes it was great so after watching this and the rest of the leaked footage I'm more then happy to say this is my favorite movie in the franchise and I hope Super and future movies keep up this great quality.

What character development was there? Cause it seems like they went backwards They worked together to beat Buu and Vegeta made a fool of himself to keep the Earth save. Yet this time they refused to work together to beat Freeza and Vegeta only stepped in when Freeza was completely worn out.

As far as the fight goes it sucked, too much focus on Beerus and Whis eating candy. Plus the CGI was really jarring.

Freeza admitted he was outclassed and swallowed his pride in order to train; Piccolo showed he isn't always a strict father figure by showing he can gently take care of Pan; Goku finally puts his arrogance and selfish behavior to the side (he should have received this development in the Freeza arc and one can argue that he did and that this movie showcased character regression, but I digress). It's subtle, but it's there if you pay attention, just like all character development in Dragon Ball.

I actually wouldn't argue any sort of regression. Goku's rather consistently wanted a good fight above all else, and never really paid any kind of penalty for that. Even when he took Buu seriously, and solely because the entire universe was at stake, he bemoaned a waste of a good opponent. This is the first time he's really had to learn he can't put the fight above all.

It's similar to Goku and Vegeta working together; they were forced to when facing Buu (and even then as an absolute last resort) but I think they would do so again if forced. They key, however, is being forced, in a situation where there's no other option. Like it as not, that pride is part of their nature.

In regards to the fight, I agree that it was pretty underwhelming and average at best, CGI overall was better than BoG's but too much of it was used. The second time F was used was in that fight and most of it was spent on Beerus and Whis talking about food, lol, and their gags were pretty unnecessary. I loved Goku's punch to Freeza's chest, Vegeta's beat-down and Nakao's screams when Freeza gets out of the water, though.

I wouldn't call the Goku part character regression as he doesn't kill Freeza out of an aversion to killing. It was the same thing with Piccolo and Vegeta where he just opted for a rematch even after they were responsible for killing his friends (which in Piccolo's case would be King Piccolo, you know what I mean lol).
