What's the line?
Tapion tells Bulma about how the "Kash-Var" view themselves as the superior race of the universe, and how they wish to wipe out all others to make the world their own. She responds with "Just when you thought intolerance couldn't get any worse than it is..."
Why are so many people upset with this line?

Eh, the movie was good and all, but I adore the Japanese versions better. I like the voice acting, title, everything. But, "Wrath of the Dragon"? It sounds so...corny. I remember when I first saw it, it was "Super Dragon Fist!! If Goku Can't Do It Who Else Will!?". I dunno, but to me, the Japanese version just captures everything perfect. What I do wish though, was that Toriyama-Sensei could've maybe tied in the anime and movie storylines, to flow together. Also, with the manga, so you could read the accual Weekly Jump Dragonball, then it ties into a Film-Comic of the movies.

I didn't like the movie itself that much.

I don't like how they move so quickly. Before you even get a good look at what's going on or a fight even begins it's three seconds later and it's over.

The whole "races" idea was pulled out of nowhere in the dub. Originally, the ones who caused Hirudegarn to rampage were just ordinary warlocks who practiced black magic and just wanted to have complete power over everything.

There was never any fight between races, nor was there any hinting towards Tapion's people being of a different race from Hoi's in the original.

It's about close to the level of saying Burdock was a scientist who created the energy ball that creates a false moon when the footage shows such is not the case.

Why are we dancing around the subject? Nazi's man! Frickin nazi's! They thought it seemed to close to alien nazi's.

I think he was being sarcastic. d^^;

Anyways, I recorded it and got into the first 10 or so minutes... and it actually wasn't all that bad, dub wise.

Why does my ENGLISH TV guide thing advertise the Japanese version of Movie 13? They might really confuse some people.

I saw this on dvd the other day. It's an alright movie but it just doesn't do it for me like Movie 12, 3, and 8 did.

I find unless you're actually interested in Tapion and his backstory its hard to stay put during the middle of the movie.
On hiatus.

Why does it say it's 90 minutes long? It's closer to 50, I believe. What's going on? :?

Um, what happened to Krillin in the movie? I remember him searching for DragonBalls but why wouldn't he help out in the fight against Godzilla? Also, Goku makes a comment about reviving the people and restoring the earth with the dragonballs. Isn't that impossible? I'm sure those people couldn't be revived again because of Buu or other threats, right?

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Geez... Time Warner really has no idea what's going on. First they talk about the Japanese version of Naruto, then they do the same for DBZ. And now their messing up how long the movie is. Maybe they were just counting the extra long commercials that they have these days.

Actually, it was Porunga who revived all the Earthlings. The only Earthlings that couldn't be brought back would be those killed by Piccolo Daimao, Cell, and Majin Vegeta. It's a shame IMO that the dub removed the references to Tapion leaving in the "time-machine" and Goku not saying they'd use the Dragonballs at next chance to revive Hildegarn's victims, but then it's a shame Tapion's back-story was screwed. Then again, it's also shame FUNi screwed their own "continuity" by having Schemmel scream "Dragon FIRE!!" rather than the already established "Dragon Fist". But whatever, whatever.

I watched it this morning (DVR) and I really liked it. This really feels like a "movie", more so than the others. I also really liked the fighting in the big cities with civilians running around.

At parts I did feel like Dragonball Z. This isn't really a bad thing. A couple of weeks ago, when Cartoon Network started airing Dragonball Z on friday nights again, I started thinking that it wasn't like other anime. It has it on pace, vibe, and story telling style. But, while watch this movie it felt like I was watching another anime. I also think that the animation itself was much better than the other 12 movies.

And, to be honest (I'm gonna recieve a lot of flack for saying this, aren't I) I really do enjoy the FUNi dubs and voice acting. It's what I was weaned on and I really do appreciate them for that. Mistranslatings, mispronunciations, unnecessary edits and censorings, and misleading story changes aside.

And I still haven't seen it =P The whole Tapion song thing and 'DRAGON FIRE!!' is just scaring me o.O

I hate FUNI's version of movie 13. I own the japanese dvd and watched some of the english version and yelled at if for loss of Tapion's flute theme. Also Tapions voice shits me.

Well, I guess I'm not too sad about missing this one then. I forgot all about it. And from watching the Movie #12 dub last month, Iam assuming that I wouldn't have enjoyed this one any better. Hell, I never liked Movie #13 all that much to be honest with you.
